We were walking round Abborsbury Subtropical Gardens today and spotted these.
One is obvious, but the other a bit unusual. The Fungi is, I believe, a variety of Hericium called Coral Tooth Fungus, unless anyone knows otherwise. It measured about 30 cm across.

Nothing quite so exotic here Nth but we have had the Green Woodpecker about 6 feet from the caravan and the site we are on has a lot of trees so plenty to see in bird species and at night just before dusk we are getting huge numbers of Starlings not sure where they are going down for the night.

Posted on 14/10/2022 19:12 by nelliethehookerI have been in communication with Head Gardener at Abbotsbury and he says that it is a Cauliflower Fungus ( Sparassis crispa), which grows and feeds on conifers and is edible when young !!
