I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

About 20 minutes ago had a bird flying over low by our kitchen window and as it went over I was surprised to see it was a Hen Harrier not see one here before, we still have have our brambling with the chaffinches and the other day we had two herons flying over nothing unusual as we get a lot over here but flying over with them was a great white egret and they all landed in some trees then flew off again towards to local lake must have wanted company. Very chilly here in the Lot but at least the sun came out today very pleasant.

About 17/18 of the Gold Finches that eat us out of hearth and home in a tree at the bottom of the garden.  Yesterday we had a Green Woodpecker and this morning 4 x Greenfinches

Does the Green Woodpecker come onto your feeder JVB and if so does it go for peanuts?  Obviously seen GSW on feeders but never a Green.

The one that has been into our garden, has only been on the lawns, have not seen it on the feeders,we see most of them on the ground when out with Rosa, not sure if it is green woodpeckers but they have been very vocal, and have been doing a lot of knocking on the trees in our local ancient woods

Finally managed to get a photograph of our local Parakeet this morning.

There are more 'ringies', our only naturalised parrots, in the UK than there are Kingfishers. When I was a child collared doves were only just establishing themselves here, look at them now.

Mrssf saw a lesser spotted woodpecker this morning, I think I've only ever seen a couple of these sparrow sized birds in my entire life.

OP

Did you do the count on Breydon?

What time of day and state of tide was it when you visited.  Weather permitting I plan to do Breydon on Friday.
