JVB, David was talking about the possibility of the 12 week time frame being extended, hence my post.

Posted on 15/01/2021 18:22

And some are also asking why the three week has been extended, undecided

It is quite noticable in this area how the infection rates have reduced these last few dayssurprised

Mrs WN just had a faceache message from Hairdresser saying that they have instructions to tentatively make appointments for 3 weeks hence. First week of February sometime. So I can only assume that they have worked out the possible timescale for when the R rate may drop enough to lens some restrictions.

Watch this space as they stupidly say.smile

That really would be asking for an outcry. Many folk aren't happy with the 12 weeks as it's not been proven by the manufacturers as yet that there is no fall off in efficacy. Still, there's nowt I can do about it.

And then there are experts who advise that even with the full vacine  doses it  possibly will not stop one still getting the virus , although there should not be  a need for ICU if infectedundecided

On the vaccine thread AnnB has given a link to the latest stats for jabs and follow up ones, it looks as though it's working quite well so far. smile

Glad to hear you're next on the list JVB. Not many have had theirs yet where we live.

We envy you getting a Dental appointment KJ and Wherenext!   We last went a year ago.  Our June 2020 appointments were cancelled and rearranged for October, these were then cancelled and told they will contact us with another appointment - still waiting!  OH has lost two fillings, fortunately not painful but annoying, on calling the Dentist he was told just get the filling stuff from a chemist, this fell out so often he has given up now.  Fingers crossed they might, just might, contact us sometime soon.

My appointment today was just for a check on previous things done, but having done an inspection and an x-ray, I am now booked in for a crown and a small repair, but not till 1st March.

Receptionist said if I go private it can be done sooner......how come?
I declined as I am not in pain.

We have not however had any regular check ups, they are only doing the most necessary treatments.  OH has not been seen for a year  now.

We've still got snow, had a fair bit yesterday, then it rained for a bit then it froze overnight.

OH had a chat with our practice manager yesterday. Turns out our area have not been getting as much vaccine as they should have. Explains why nothing happening. He asked what is happening with our 2 elderly neighbours as they are getting a bit concerned they've not heard anything yet.  Turns out they are on the list for a home visit from the community team. OH suggested that maybe someone should call and tell them that and stop them worrying.

The hats that I knitted before Christmas came in handy yesterday, I put them up on the village FB page to see if anyone interested, sold all 5 in no time at all.smile

We have both started diets this week, my sister and BIL also started one. This weather is not helping as its so bad underfoot to go for a decent walk. So as I need to exercise the house has been getting blitzed from top to bottomlaughing

Stay safe everyone.

JV good news on getting a date for vaccine.

Glad to hear that you and your OH have got your jab appointments JVB.

I have seen on the news this evening that Lichfield Cathedral have become a vaccine hub. What a brilliant idea. They all have so much space, several entrances and exits and are usually near the centre of the town. Also that is what the abbeys originally did. They provided a welcome and medical help to the local community. I hope more cathedrals follow suit.

We are bracing ourselves for the possibility of a lot of snow tomorrow. Most unusual for this area.

How very interesting Millie. Lichfield is lovely, very interesting. I believe Cardinal Wolsey stayed there on his last trip up North, shortly before he died. As you say, plenty of space, decent number of exits, and there is a good car park just over the roadπŸ‘
