What a horrible day, very cold and fog that has been lingering all day and now qite thick again as dusk has set in ,only upside is ground is hard so not so muddy as lately, wink

Cream tea was very nice, although clotted cream was made in Wiltshire but it is in a very nice glass jarcool

Not sure that HMG will not evoke more restrictions as plenty of cars on "essential journeys"? so much for the stay at home ,IMHO think even though we have a very high covid figure many are getting quite blase about the situation, undecided

But it seems the annual flue virus is being kept at bay by the amount of covid  protection is reducing cross infectionundecided

TG, I can recommend the Baltic. We did it in 2012. 2019 was our silver and we had a month on QM2 to NY, New England and Quebec. OH is suffering withdrawal symptoms as we haven't done another cruise since then.

Thanks CY, its St Petersburg that I want to see, though I'm sure I'll enjoy all the other places to.

We managed a weeks cruise Jan/Feb last year before it all kicked off. Its not one I would recommend though.

The one before that was Feb 2019 on the QM2 it was the second leg of the world cruise, Dubai to Singapore. Its the next leg of that I fancy doing. OH fancies South America or Australia and New Zealand cruise and stay. I don't fancy the long flight.

TG , We did the Baltic a couple of years ago . St Petersburg is a beautiful city once you get away from the harbour front (typical 60's Russian high rises ) . Took me a while to get used to seeing ICBM 's dotted around the place , strange landmarks 😀. If the cruise allows Tallinn in Estonia is without doubt the loveliest city I've been to. Hope it all works out for you.

It looks brighter up your way Corners, it's just damp and cold down here and I think a lot colder over night again.

JVB if we order cream from Milk and More it always comes in glass jars now, so does the yoghurt (and our milk.) Except clotted cream, they don't offer it. Nice idea to have these teas arriving on your doorstep. smile

. Not very busy, and good to see more folks were using sanitising stations rather than walking past.

Ttda, we don't sanitise as we walk in as we wear those plastic see through gloves, which are turned inside out as soon as shopping put in car and disposed of before we leave the car park.

Thanks Trellis, I think Tallin is one of the stops. Just need the confidence to try a cruise this year. I guess they will be like flights etc. Covid test before allowing you on board, but with quite a few stops with folk getting on and off mixing with other nationals, it wouldn't be hard for someone to bring it back on board. Might have to leave it another year.

Very, very cold overnight. Bright and sunny first thing, then milder late afternoon with grey skies. First time the vehicles have been snow and frost free for well over a week.

More painting this morning for me, OH did the ironing. Good walk this afternoon then relaxing since then.smile

Lots of load drilling coming from through the wall next door, its the young lads bedroom not sure what's being done but Dad's not know for his DIY skills. OH said " hope he's got a depth gauge on that drill" laughing he even went and checked the wall, its the room we have just decoratedsurprised

Watching the news and seeing the snow in Madrid, the rain in Maderia, Canaries and Gib.

In a normal year there would be hundreds of folk going out to Spain for the winter, wouldn't fancy getting caught up in that.

We sanitise going in and then when we get to the car before touching it.

Trolley handles are done as we go in but we use a shopping bag to grab and push it to the sanitizing point.

I think we are getting back to how we were in March/April, its just folk getting to close that bugs me. What part of 2m distance do they not understand.

I think its the distance that is the main defence against the virus. If you are not close it is much harder to transmit.
