Yes look after yourself Malc, have they told you the reason yet for the I assume low blood count?

Posted on 09/02/2017 19:36

No, Davefl2, they don't yet know the reason so need to do some further tests and investigations. So I'll have to attend further appointments as an outpatient but I'm now back in the caravan for the time being! I'll get a letter in a week or so, so I guess I'll be visiting my cousin more often to check my mail!

Thanks Ian. I must admit, I was glad of the three days off work! Not sure how the boss has taken it though!

Sorry to read this Malcolm.  Hope you are recovering - take care of yourself and take some time off if you can.  Hope they found the cause of it and will make it all good.

With best wishes

David

Thanks DSB. However, the worrying part is that they don't yet know the cause. They've given me iron tablets which should help but as yet there is no reason for the blood count dropping so low as to create an emergency. So I feel afraid of a re-occurrence.

Malcolm - you look after yourself! Your health is the most important thing at the moment. Take it easy - they'll still be needing delivery drivers after you've made a full recovery. Listen to what the medical professionals tell you!

Posted on 09/02/2017 19:50

Thanks Chris. I was released from hospital about two hours ago. They've changed some of my medication. Apparently part of the problem was too much build up of fluid causing some lung problem hence the breathing difficulty. There will be some further tests. They mentioned ECG.

Anyhow, my wife met me at the hospital and we got a taxi back to the caravan. We won't be going back to work this evening. So it will be dinner at home in the caravan. We did go out to do some shopping at Tesco Extra this evening using the Smart car and have just got back fom that.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell Malcolm,  take care and don't rush back to work, you need to look after yourself a bit now.

Posted on 09/02/2017 19:59

Thanks H&T. We've told the boss that we can't resume work until Friday. So it's been four days off altogether although not in the best of circumstances! My wife was glad of the time to catch up with other household tasks though! She's been making good use of the time off.

Gosh Helen, didn't know your son had moved already, have I been hibernating wink

Get better soon MM, its not nice being ill.

Have a good break Triky

Moulesy we have a fair bit of snow on the hills all around us but nothing in our village.

Very cold this evening, frost already forming.

Posted on 09/02/2017 20:02

Thanks Tammygirl. It seems my blood count has been been brought up by the blood transfusion but not completely yet but enough to be released from being an inpatient.

That must have been very frightening Malcolm!

Do take things easy for a bit, maybe a few more days off work would be wise.
