Decided to stick to the motorway network en route home today. Bad moove as stuck going nowhere for 90 minutes on the M6 near Keele whilst some unfortunate people had their accident cleared up. Hope they weren't badly injured.

Back home after an enjoyable weeks break. MIL kept the birds fed but supplies running low so off to pick some more up tomorrow.

Hope those in the path of the bad weather are unscathed.

Got up to a light covering of snow this morning (what is called 'heavy snow falls' in the south east wink) and very cold......especially with our central heating turned off, due to having removed the kitchen radiator for tiling - see separate thread).

Got up early wih my 'plumbing head' on. Ended day with new radiator installed and heating seems better than ever. smile

well another day over on this working holiday down south. You'll be please to know I declined the return flight back for the weekend (save some taxpayer's money) and elected to stay and have two days off in this fancy hotel. The breakfast is far better than home anyway.

Hmm, sad to see that happening, I looked it up on the Practical M/H site, I didn't realise they also owned Adria. Hope A/S doesn't change too much.

My elderly neighbours who have been struggling with their health and life in general have decided to move nearer their family. It's a relief but I will also miss them. Their cottage is very cold even with heating. We have another elderly neighbour who refuses to put any heating on, I spotted her inside her home today with a hat and coat on, it's been so cold today I wonder how she survives.

Oh dear brue. Elderly people can be so stubborn sometimes. My Dad wouldn't have his heating on. The warden of the flats where he lived went round twice a day and switched it on and I also went round twice a day and switched it on and as soon as we left he switchecit off. It wasn't as though he couldn't afford it!! Glad your other neighbours have decided to move nearer their family. I just hope they will be supportive.

Mr H had his cataract op today and all went according to plan. He is now sitting here with his eye patch on wondering why his sight isn't perfect yet. Patience isn't his strong point laughing

Thanks Millie. No-one has managed to persuade the neighbour without the heating to use it so it's very frustrating! I'm sort of glad to hear others have experienced this too, not easy .

Hope Mr H makes a good recovery. smile

Glad that you got home safe and sound, although delayed. We are glad that we came north yesterday, as we missed the crash and also the winds that were blowing this morning.

Did you leave early to avoid the worst of it? Hope you're on a site that's easy to get in and out of, i.e. not in the back of beyond.
