Great news Moulesy, will you be on a different part of the site now?

Yes, it's right next-door to where we met you! Happy

Not far to move then, Smile Hope all goes well.

Wow - 16° and back to shorts and shirtsleeves for today's walk! Happy

And a very exciting day for us as we've just agreed a deal to upgrade our static to a newer model for next year ( not brand new unfortunately, some of the prices at the "boutique" site just up the road are simply eye-watering!). Staying in the same small family run site, so keeping all the same neighbours and friends we've made over the past 5 years. So that's our "block booking" done for 2017. Wink

Can't wait for January to come round now! Happy

Pleased for you Mousley, hope you enjoy it. We finally bought our static in September, thanks for your advice then. We really love it, and, as with you, we have already made friends and have lovely neighbours. Worth doing all our research, as we are on a lovely site. Can't wait for next season. And, being really smug, it was good not to have to take part in the booking frenzy today. Enjoy your new van.

Thanks Debsc. Glad to know that all went well for you. I can't just remember what part of the country you're in. It is good to have made friends and neighbours on site. If nothing else we know they're always keeping there eyes open for any problems, not that we've ever had any. It's great to arrive on site with everything set up ready to go isn't it? Happy

Yes, it's like home from home, made it into ours already. The site is in Stratford upon Avon. Our neighbours are there most of the time and keep an eye out, they have a key, useful when we go home and forget to turn the porch light off! Our only regret is not doing it sooner.

Are you not staying there over X-Mas this year then? Congrats on the new van.

Thanks, nellie. Xmas will just be the 2 of us and Dad ( plus dogs of course) at home this year. But we'll then come down on the 27th and stay for New Year. Happy

Had to go into the office this morning, computer guy coming to give the work computer a full health check . He checked a few things and said should be ok, couldn't find anything serious.Found out he has just bought a caravan, so had plenty to chat about while he worked . Cool

Then on the road by 12, pretty good journey in wintry sunshine.

Pitched van, awning and Christmas lights up. Very festive . Smile

Site looking very festive, wardens have put up lights and a tree.

Walked into Castleton, lots of lovely decorated trees. HappyReally looking forward to plenty of walks, exploring the area and meeting up with youngest son and his girlfriend on Friday.Smile

Hope everyone got their sites booked for next year ,  seemed to have missed it! Laughing

Glad you've arrived safe and sound H&T ( &D!). Have a great time - lovely area at this time of year! Happy

I'll second that. Enjoy your stay.Laughing

Restocking day. Drove over to Fleetwood's Aldi and then onto the front for a walk along the prom. On to the Freeport, but nowt worth getting. Homebargains & Iceland before heading back to the van. Cloudy windy day but so much warmer than the last week.

This is the anniversary of the floods at Carlisle following Storm Desmond, which we experienced first hand.

Ah  Yes  Storm  Desmond  Is  this  the  one  that  caused  so  much  damage  &  flooding  that  it  has  taken the  "Powers  That  Be"  twelve  months  to  decide  they  were  the  worst  on  record,  when  Joe  Bloggs  with  his  walking  stick  knew  that  after  about  a  month !
