Beautiful sunny morning, just back from walking the dog, lots of birds, singing their little hearts out this morning.

Expecting the boys this morning, although probably not until later on, neither of them are early risers. Laughing

Walked along the Winchcombe road to Stanton then through that village (delightful, especially as they are preparing to open the village for the National Gardens Scheme tomorrow) and up onto the Cotswold Way.

Walked along there and dropped down again onto the Snowshill road and back into Broadway. A lovely walk that we have done many times and never tire of.

There are some lovely walks in and around Broadway,  glad you are having a good holiday, Ian.

Well this weekend see,s our locol FAB (folk and boat) festival. Its the biggest event of the year in the town and runs over three days. The festival is in its 26th year and has gone from strength to strength each year. Our town is a canal town and stands on the junction of the Trent and Mersey with the Shropshire union canal,s.Singers and dancers from all over the world are lined up to perform free throughout the town and an estimated twenty five thousand people will come into the town over the three days. Some 30 to 40 acts. The locol Rose Fete is also over this weekend and the rose queen is paraded up and down the canal on a specially decorated narrow boat curtosy of one of the resident narrow boat hire companys.Narrow boats start arriveing a week before to get a mooring spot and there are boats as far as the eye can see moored three abreast on the canals. The locol pubs all do a roaring trade and the whole event is for the family. Its a ten minute walk from where i live to the canal so i will be down there again today with the family Happy

Sounds like  a really good day out, Smile

We have a canal and folk festival on the Oxford canal in October,  usually very busy, but good day out.

Well  I  can  only  hope  the  canal  festivals  like  those  dont  get  a  visit  from  a  certain  elderly  theatrical  couple  'cos  their  narrow-boat  seems  to  be  used  as something  akin  to  an  icebreaker !!
