Where ever you visit ,enjoy our county ,too many people see Kent as the gateway to Europe and don't stop to see what we can offer

you must try some of the Whitstable oystersCool

Tenterden has a nice steam railway ,if that's your sort of thing ........

We've been to Kent many times and agree that it is a very attractive corner of the country.

JVB - we are a bit off the beaten track for buses this time, but have always found parking easy enough in Canterbury.

Agree about Margate. Despite the recent art gallery and attempts to make it more 'up market' I'm not at all sure they've succeeded yet.

Went up Mt Ventoux today.  Got further than the Tour De France race - but the we took the car up.  A little cooler at the top, but very little wind now.  Moving on to Frejus tomorrow.

Hope you paid tribute to Tom, David!

Thanks all.  Couldn't get anywhere near Tom's memorial this time Ian.  So many cyclists about - very, very busy.  We went up the south side, from Bedoin, but couldn't get parked at the top.  We went on down the north side and managed to park a little way down.  Carol and Anna managed to walk back up to the top, but alas, it was too much for me!

All is well Brue, as is the fridge and the van JVB66.  We have the tall fridge and haven't found it a problem getting too cold.  We take a seperate 'chest type' fridge for the awning too - mainly for drinks.

It's been quite windy here at Aubignan - the Mistral has been doing its bit

Just checking in and catching posts in thus thread .  Very warm welcome here, shame weather has turned wet and cool 14c, we wearing shirts three quarters T-shirt and fleece type thing if necessary locals want us to dress for winter haha.  Told them this is British summer! Especially this year!!! Have been well catered for so far, no food prep or food shopping apart from milk and tea bags. Homemade fish pies salad quiche and muffins from one friend for first evenings dinner, then she insisted on cooking us dinner yesterday hmmmm roast chicken with lovely fresh garden veg grown by other person at dinner, 86 widow who we've got to know she also gave us a fruit loaf, very nice. Desert was Apple and rhurbarb crumble but no flour in crumble, mixed nuts seeds and rolled oats, fruit grown by 86 year old - I feel lazy!!! Homemade pumpkin and kurma soup for our fridge from our daughter along with homemade muslieu bars .  Also handed home grown manadrains- deliciously sweet and grapefruit, u tried yet. More offers of meals from our friends - it feels like coming home!  Luckily little in the way of catering facilities in our cabin so can sort out meal out somewhere or BBQ if the weather reasonable, at daughters where we provide the goodies!

More cuddles and playtimes today. Elderest grandaughterr soooooooo pleased to see us on arrival. Grandad especially not sure how shell take to sharing him with her sister when she cotton's on!!!!  Maid of all work and master of DIY duties begin tomorrow.............

Enjoy your trips, your days and the weather folks.  I've liked lots of posts as I've not got time to comment on them.

What a lovely day for tugging!  Just done 140 miles from market harborough (sorry about no caps.)  Road was dry, weather overcast with occasional sunny breaks, warm and very little commercial traffic. Even the cars were well spaced out and no hold ups.  Cruised the Elizabeth Bridge (dartford Crossing) at 50mph all the way. Never had such a good journey. Long may they continue.
