Apparently the Sam Smiths pub chain is banning the use of mobile phones within their pubs insisting that customers go outside as smokers do. A brave business decision perhaps ?
I can see it now..

I did chuckle at that.... There are a few pubs that I frequent that don't even accept cards let alone any of this newfangled phone malarkey...
Sorry No Cards - Cash Only on a big sign behind the bar. It is Yorkshire 
The landlords saw the bank charges for card payments and went ..

If we go out for a meal I often don't take my phone - but always wear my Apple watch, knowing that I can be contacted by text (and phone), and get news alerts etc.
It's always set to silent, and I don't think the slight vibration on my wrist is bothering anyone!

My husband wanted to buy me an expensive necklace (that he had seen) for my 70th - but I asked if I could have an expensive piece of jewellry that I could wear every day - i.e. the watch (which doesn't look at all sporty and hi tech).
The necklace would have been lovely - but would have sat in a box most of the time.
