Drone on and on and on!!

we have just stayed at Knaresborough caravan site and written a review.  We noticed a drone taking off from outside reception and then flew all over the site before landing back in car park.  With the increase in drone sales it maybe worth a mention that flying so close to the public is illegal and the caravan club should not encourage this in any way.

The injury to people or property? Would the caravan club pay for my damage if they allowed the person to film from above???

Wonder how many of you have heard the racket they make? Similar to a constant drilling going on next pitch

Is that Drones Solo?, the ones I’ve seen/heard are way up in the sky, they sound like Bees to me, momentarily louder when landing👍🏻

Depends the size of your drone

They could, of course, be used to police those going to the showers wearing flip flops and bath towels round their waists etc.

Fashion Police is the phrase that springs to mind.smile

As a keen photographer and caravan owner I recently purchased a small drone, registered it with the government and sat an kn line test in order to use it safely.  I also pay the government £9 pa for the privilege.

Just to add my opinion.  My drone weighs less than 250grammes allowing it to be used over residential and industrial areas but must be 50metres away from people below.  Obviously that is not always possible on take off ir landing.  Flying over a crowd however where people may not be able to avoid an aircraft which may be in trouble is not permitted.  Only light aircraft, helicopters, civil airliners and military aircraft are allowed to do that but must be above 500ft.  I know which one I would like to be under in the event of an accident.

Since learning to fly my drone I have been able to capture some wonderful images of scenery, historic buildings and landscapes.  What better than to have a 4vk video of a caravan site for people to see how beautiful the site and surrounding area are.  Almost every TV programme you aee on television today uses a drone to show the splendour of our planet in a way only ever been done by more expensive and usually prohibitive methods.

I am a drone convert and would thoroughly approve of the use of drones, which by the way are never airborne for more than 39 minutes maximum, and when used to photograph a campsite would need to be at an altitude of 120metres, or 500ft in order to get a good view, just where noisy  light aircraft can also fly and making much more noise.

Drone images on our beloved website would only serve to enhance the experience of us looking at new sites.  We invariably rely on members to post images anyway that are such a big help. Why not drone footage.

I would like to propose that members who have drones and are registered with the govt are,, by application to the club given permission and be allowed to do take video and images of club sits.

NB. In order to take a successful representation of anywhere, be it a building site or a caravan site, you need to be flying somewhere adjacent to the are and not over it, which actually means anyone  can do it unhindered. It would however for a caravan owner on site to be able to take off and land next to his caravan.

P.s. my Petanque skills make me a more dangerous player of Bowles than being a drone pilot.

Best Wishes to all.

Sorry, I'm going to propose that I don't want the buzzing noise of your drone over me, or wish to star in your video.......innocent

Invasion of privacy springs to mind - I certainly would not wish to be buzzed by a noisy bird.

Bad enough with helios going back and forwards all over the place, disturbing a peaceful rest.
