Exciting News! At Wyatts Covert Club Campsite we’re trialling Smart Metering, which means you will only pay for the amount of electricity you use during your stay.

The price quoted for bookings at this campsite excludes electricity (with campsite fees reduced accordingly) and we will only charge you for the precise amount of electricity you use during your stay.

This is something many members have been asking for and we’re really pleased to be able to trial it this year! Find out more at https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/smartmetering/

This applies to both this thread and the metering thread so I'll post it in both.

We have had, if memory serves, no one posting on here that has been actually affected by this current trial and the proposed metering trial, and their experiences. All we have is posters discussing the possible issues, and some saying they won't use it in any event,  but no one who is actually going to be affected posting?

There must be someone booked in now for when the trial starts?

Ah, you can’t beat a bit of speculation, Corners ๐Ÿ™„

It was just the same when the deposit scheme was announced.

On page 6 we have DK saying he might test out the system on one of the sites for a couple of nights. Some of us have had metered stays on other sites. I can't see anything wrong with contributions which raise points about the trials. Some reactions might be useful as feedback to CAMC.

Points about the trials is one thing, Brue, but you must have noticed how both threads are speculating when a wait and see approach would likely resolve the questions. Furthermore, both threads have taken on the appearance of being an excuse for having a go at camc. It’s rather repetitive I find.

Indeed it is fun and part of CT life TW, nothing wrong with it (did I say that?) and certainly do it myself, but my point is that some real life experiences of the current trial and the one starting soon would be interesting and good to see on CT. As I said I can't recall any?

No one has posted about the ANPR trial at all yet someone must have been there? and there must be people booked in and did book in before the metering trial was announced but yet again no one has posted how it will affect them? Have they been contacted? Are they going to cancel? Are they bothered?

'We' can and do speculate and discuss all we like but it doesn't sound as if the vast majority of us posting are going to be affected and it would be good if someone who is/will be posted?

A person who is negative to something/someone can only prove their intellect by having positive discourse too, simply attacking at every opportunity merely shows unfair Bias. . .Nothing more.

I agree, Corners. I’m waiting to hear first hand experience from site users. That should give us a better insight.

I am not against anything that the Club trials , But , the Club doesn’t seem to have a good track record of bringing something new to the table without it going smoothly
