Exciting News! At Wyatts Covert Club Campsite we’re trialling Smart Metering, which means you will only pay for the amount of electricity you use during your stay.

The price quoted for bookings at this campsite excludes electricity (with campsite fees reduced accordingly) and we will only charge you for the precise amount of electricity you use during your stay.

This is something many members have been asking for and we’re really pleased to be able to trial it this year! Find out more at https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/smartmetering/

I have just emailed the Club to ask what the Kwh price will be on the two sites. I have suggested its not very transparent only to find out the cost once you have booked. Will let you know when I get a response.

I've just tried to get info regarding the current price of electric for businesses of various sizes; not easy and somewhat confusing.  However it would appear to range from about £0.29 to £0.32 per kWh rounded.  That being the case £1 would get say 3 kWh.  If that is so my £1 will get me about 7 kWh worth of LPG.  If that is the case I will be better off leaving the orange umbilical disconnected, especially as our van is more efficient using LPG.

DD, your quoted figures of 29 to 32 pence per kwh are somewhat off the markundecided

It would help and be polite, if CC Ltd would give an indication as to the price per kWh they intend to charge.  I'm pretty certain that for anyone who uses exchangeable gas cylinders it will be much more expensive than using electric.  For those of us that use refillable LPG cylinders I suspect it will be cheaper to take the reduction especially in the spring, autumn, and winter periods.

Totally agree DD.  When booking you know beforehand what the cost will be for pitch + occupants; whilst obviously you won't know the actual cost of metered electricity beforehand, the information regarding cost per kWh should be made available beforehand.

If I go into a shop and the price for an item I want isn't available on the shelf, I'd ask what the price is before committing to purchase.  I'd never just buy anything without knowing the price beforehand.

The phrase: You will only pay for what you consume, the amount it costs will depend on your personal usage in the link from the OP is vague to say the least, as it states the very obvious, but doesn't answer the question of how much the cost per kWh is.

I hope the article will be updated ASAP with that information.

The CMC has installed dedicated EV charger on several sites, I emailed the CMC as to the cost per kWh, I eventually received a reply £9.00, apparently the is a sign of the EV charger outlining the cost per kWh plus a link to the CMC showing which sites provide EV chargers?

As there is no sign on the EV charger at Blacknowl our friend who were on site asked the wardens l how much the was EV charger per kWh, they had not been informed of a the cost?

They may well be JK and I did qualify it.  Why not tell us what you think, or know it to be?

What about businesses with around 1500 employees dd? Anyway that's bye the bye and whether I know anything or not is sort of irrespective.

Betting with yourself dd, there are places you can get help with gambling you knowwink.

Did you get your paintwork sorted?
