Pre-arrival texts

I’ve heard of a few people who have received texts just before their booking start dates reminding them of the 1300 arrival time. I’m told the wording makes it clear they will be turned away if they arrive early. This is in addition to the usual booking reminder emails.

I’m wondering if CAMC is taking steps to curb early arrivals. Has anyone here received a text?

Well one person's unreasonable is ...

You say it's very unreasonable that outfits are being turned away at 12.50, it could be argued it is unreasonable that despite being told to arrive after 13:00 a number of times and agreeing to abide by this time people still think it is reasonable to turn up early?

Ok so the club 'allows' people turning up early 10 minutes early as 'normal' or routine. or won't turn them away if it's just 10 minutes, then I'm sure it will become 'reasonable' to arrive 15 minutes early, after all that's only five minutes 'early' now and you can see where this is going.

No in my view have one set time and stick to it and I fully agree with anyone being turned away anytime before that, they are just chancing their arm and trying it on and not fair or reasonable to those that stick to the set time.

Sooner or later the message will get through and people will stop doing it.

I would expect that if I did it, not that I have or ever would, I'd be asked to go away.

so ...  someone turns up 10 mins early (at somewhere like NYM where there is a long access road off the main road) and refuses to turn around & go away for 10 mins. What happens then? That mythical lay-bye might have been full of HGVs having their dinner. Do you suggest their membership card is shredded or suspended for a set time?

Which is why a common approach is now being taken and emails, phone calls and texts being used to drive the message home.

Not before time. , possibly less adverse comments to site staff😏🤔

There will still be posts from those who have been to sites where arrival times are different but are part of the lease agreement from the owners 🤔

Where we are some arrive earlier than 1300  they then get booked on site from 1300surprised At St Neots and Sandringham CCC sites the same happens and has happened longer than this club it is accepted by the memberswink

There really is no reason or excuse to arrive before the advertised time. Some peoples behaviour has been absolutely shocking, so re your last sentence, as a last resort possibly yes.

There are still a small number of sites that have differing times, Edinburgh, Coniston and Tewkesbury come to mind. However at some point this year they will all be aligned to 13.00

I have just clicked back to page 2 of this thread and can’t see a reason for the change to 13:00.

but sometimes traffic flows better than expected. 10 mins early might be pretty good if you've travelled a fair distance .... and as above, these mythical lay-byes are generally just that. Not excusing bad behaviour but some staff have a holier than thou attitude ...
