I've used RP ferry pitches a couple of times, as its convenient for us to visit family members either before the crossing or on the way home. If on the way out book onto the main site then on the day of travel move onto ferry pitch. So far been lucky as I've been able to leave the car hitched

This wont affect me though as having been down those lanes once I have no plans to use it again.

We've used the ferry pitches at BH, booked 1 night paid in advance as we were arriving and leaving before the normal office opening hours.
As it turned out we arrived early before the office closed. Didn't hear a sole in the morning leaving, they allocated pitches to try to alleviate disturbance by pitching folk in groups according to their departure time, worked very well, would use it again if down that way.
On normal sites I much prefer to pay the night before leaving, but that's not allowed over here
Don't mind a deposit with the other club as we tend not to book to far in advance (you can usually get a pitch) so know that we will definitely be going.
