The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

The deposit is a percentage of the total cost rather than a fixed administration fee ... so a family of 5 (who have no choice other than to book at peak times) have to find 20% of the total cost. As a couple, our deposit will be much less for the same period for the same administrative process. It also discriminates against those that are not in the privileged position of being able to afford to set up an account with The Bank of CAMC to hold their deposits. I think I speak for many members who have stayed loyal to the club because of ease of booking/amending/cancelling. Wherever we want to go, we seek out the nearest club site. We don't look at any other provider. This change  removes that loyalty. Who knows, it could be the best thing ... removing the USP removes loyalty so time to try new sites and new locations.

Simple really. Just put 2 persons down on initial booking, which will generate the deposit amount, then pay for the extra occupants on arrival, when you have saved up?šŸ¤·‍ā™€ļø I can see a lot of this going on to keep deposits as low as possible to be honest. Unless of course the Club puts on an administrative fee to amend a bookingšŸ¤Ø

Edit when we were last at Malvern there was a Ā£9 + price difference, the sites sit side by side, we went and had aook at this club site and thought it not as nice as the CCC offering.

We have used the CAMC Malvern site on many occasions and liked it. However, this September with sites being unusually full I booked a HS at the C&CC site, to make sure we didnā€™t end up on grass. Some of those on the CAMC site are a long way from the road. Our stay was also Ā£9 a night cheaper. We really liked the site layout and will use it in future, even when pitch type booking is available with this club.

Good to hear, I think we will be heading that way in June.

Now there will be similar booking conditions in both clubs, where both have sites in an area we are visiting, we will be booking on price, and also looking at CLs where available.  With price rises on pretty much everything in the offing, we either keep costs down or have fewer nights away.

Having decided £32.70 was just  too much for a pitch at Banchory, and having found we could have a serviced pitch at Deeside Holiday Park for £31,  we have now booked a pitch on a CL at Banchory for £18.   Serviced HS, toilets and showers too, not that we need them.  Just have to decide where we will head after that.

Michael, sorry to add to others' dislike of Cherry Hinton, but we stayed at the C&CC site (newly refurbished pitches..) and found it very nice and convenient.

we called in at CH when out on bikes one day just to see...the darkest, dankest site we've ever been to...dim, grim and damp...sorry.

We did exactly the same in staying on the CCC site and visiting CH - and we came to the same conclusion. laughing

We have in recent years been using a CL close to Portsmouth at half the price of the nearest club site (and one don't like anyway), went there initially  out of principal  but found it suited us better. I have just booked 2 nights to service our next trip to Portsmouth Ā£27 and Ā£30 and I think both are very overpriced but we use the CAMC sites so rarely its not often worth searching for a cheaper alternative. However  if I were forced to spend another year doing "staycation" I would seriously  consider looking outside the club.

As you know we have booked a commercial site in Norfolk with hardstands ehu and heated new toilet block, which is nearly £15 cheaper than both the club sites in the same area per night smile

And that could be just the start surprised

USP of the club gone so may well be us.   even if we do not now have to pay for membershipcool

Two of our friends are of the same thoughts undecided

We may as they have said look for CLs if they have decent write upsinnocent

Academic for us all this deposits, amending etc…. We shall be using more CLs, and having just come back from a cottage stay where it worked out at just over £30 per night, with everything we needed (wifi, dishwasher, ensuite shower, garden, perfect location) we might just be using our MH as a day van and for a bit of a tour travelling to and from a similar priced cottage. (Booked late, hence the bargain price)
Happy to remain Members, but the CL network is still the primary reason. No doubt we will pick up the odd cheap Club night here and there on occasion, but we have nothing booked, and no intention of booking anything Club after January.

Cheap food,? cheap wine,? cheap hotels,? cheap campsites?  No way. Quality governs choice every time for me.

Is it all part of a "Baldrick cunning plan"? Reduce pitch occupancy by less attractive amended T&C plus pricing and use the result to justify swapping pitches for pods to improve cash return on sites.

I think as we are finding ,that with the occupancy levels as they are at this time even with the prices we  chunter about,   more large ,investment by the clubs "experiance freedom" arm is not going to happen soon

Even site staff are still being restricted with their concessions on site stays, and that was I understand been reiterated for this time of year,in an email last weeksmile

If as quite a few have posted ,it will be interesting to see if the USP of this club ,is going to be affected in the membership, when  and if a reduction in the  covid.  influence will be used if sites and membership declinessurprised
