Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

Bartonians……We have been using CLs for years, along with some very nice small private sites, and are seldom disappointed, along with saving a lot of money. Many CLs are far superior in terms of facilities to Club Sites, and the welcome is usually very nice. The key to finding one that will suit you is to make sure you do some research, make sure they have all you need (we are all different, some like very basic, others want plenty of extras). Don’t hesitate to ask for any CL help, as there are a lot of us who use them almost exclusively, and can probably recommend somewhere. Just don’t expect the same level of staffing as you get on a Club SitešŸ˜ Browse the CL section for topics, there’s also a Small Private Sites section under UK Touring where Members recommend good non Club Sites to stay on. There’s also the CLBooking App, which you can access in  App Store for whatever device you use. Hope you get sorted okšŸ‘

I wholeheartedly agree that this is a disaster for members and the club.

I tried to amend a booking so that we had a handstand ing pitch for a motorhome (having been automatically assigned a grass pitch). Despite an email telling me I would be able to do this the website didnā€™t work properly and the price went up by around Ā£10 a night. In desperation I paid rather than lose the booking. The website told me my payment hadnā€™t been taken but fortunately we have an alert on the credit card so I knew it had, otherwise I would have ended up paying the inflated price twice. I am still waiting for a reply to my email querying it. Obviously they have disabled live chat

We are now on-site looking to book more sites but the late availability calendar now seems to have vanished so I canā€™t plan

The club website has gone from excellent to appalling overnight .

Yes, your IT department might be working hard to fix the problems but they created them in the first place. Why on earth was it not fully tested?

It would be interesting to see what proportion of the membership would like the old system back (and how many wanted it changed in the first place)

Posted on 16/09/2022 18:41

Sadly, it’s a done deal. The Club aren’t likely to waste energy telling us how many wanted the change, and it’s irrelevant probably anyway. HQ has decreed this is what was needed, it’s bought it, faffed about with it, and like it or lump it, it’s all we now have. A metaphor for our times…….

To scroll through every car sold all over the world going back to 1992 would take weeks. However it is totally irrelevant to the matter of this new booking system roll out fiasco. Your comparison is meaningless.

Posted on 16/09/2022 19:19

Yes, it is relevant as it proves your claim vehicle recalls are rear, is inaccurate
For God's sake give the club a reasonable period of time, to sort what is a complex piece of software, before complaining
I tried it, and it worked perfectly for me, maybe it a user problem, not a software problem.
Deposits are here to stay, blame those that abused the other system for the change, probably many of those that are complaining

With help from the site manager here at Berwick Seaview I have managed to make a booking at the North Yorkshire Moors site for a stopover on the way home. I have just checked the My Bookings page and it confirms that this is now in place with deposit paid.
The page also says that payment is due for my holiday and goes on to say that the next payment is due on the 16th June 2025.
I look forward to staying at the NY Moors site next week and as long as I am still alive in June 2025 I will be happy to pay for it.

Its a bit of a long winded route, this is by the website.

  • At top of page hover over Find a UK Campsite
  • Under the heading All UK campsites, click on Club Campsites
  • Then scroll down more than half the page you will links for See All Sites in England etc
  • The next page brings links to the regions, eg Cotwolds etc
  • Click Find Out More
  • The next page now breaks it down to County
  • Click Find Out More
  • The next page now shows you the links to the club sites in that County
  • Click on the site you want and it is the old web page for that site, minus any pricing information.

To make it quicker I've started bookmaking individual sites in a created folder on my chromebook.

Just put the site you want in the search box at the top of the page...or Google it.

With all these reports of Members being unable to book you can probably turn up unannounced at any Club site now and find it half empty.

Posted on 16/09/2022 19:48

Certainly true at Bromyard Downs tonight, less than half full including unpredictable seasonal pitches.

Can't comment on Android devices but our iPhone app came up with a  message saying that this version has been superseded and should be deleted and install the new version from the app store...Works fine.  The OH also downloaded the new version and is very pleased that it now shows her Digital membership card...and that she can pay the balance due before we arrive at the site...

I Deleted User the old app, from my I phone, as it was continuously spinning, and downloaded the new app but it is not working for me, a complete mess!!

Thanks Mike, as you say very long winded. Bookmarking commonly used sites seems a good idea. However, it’s very poor that we are having to go to these lengths when the club should have provided some direct links.

Just posting this because I’m a bit frustrated that this new app doesn’t seem to be working. eg.
1.Dates I’ve booked are logged but not tells me where I’m going.

2. Got to fill in all the drop down boxes every time I look at different camp sites.

3. if I download one of the sites PDF’s I can’t return back to the previous page I was looking at.

4. Cannot find camp site reviews

I was hoping that when using the filler in the app that I would be able to enter my desired pitch eg grass hardstand serviced so on so on

hopefully these glitches will be update soon

Agree with Wedgy a snagging list along with which device is being used is needed.

So do I, at least we will know not to keep reporting the same thing over and over.

I still cannot log onto the Android App, has anyone managed to or is it just me? I have reported it.

Peedee

I am writing this without reading the following posts (been out all day) I am experiencing to same problems with Android App. It won't accept my usual log on details on the opening page, it comes up with an error logging in message. If I continue as a guest and tap the "My Bookings" tab my future bookings show. How this happens without accepting my log in I don't know? However if I click on the next door tab "My Cards"  it asks me to become a member?

I have Deleted User the original app and also the new one and reinstalled without success.

There seems a major flaw in the system?
