We were staying on the North Yorkshire site at Whitby and our neighbours were heating their  awning all day. No wonder the prices are going up on the Caravan Club sites.

That is what when Questioned? and some site staff trying to keep others on site safe,  there are some who then jump to to the defence. of said inconsiderate people probably some.  the said perpetrators or in a vain attempt to try to score points as you may have noticed

With the state of the planet then heating a tent, which is basically what an awning is, is IMO wrong. If someone does it in the evening because they have decided to eat an evening meal outside, or as Easy has said to use very rarely to have some quiet time then I can understand but not to put it on whilly nilly, certainly not when the occupiers are out, what are they thinking. If we all did it site fees would certainly go up. (again).  As for tugging caravans with big motors, this must surely be better for the environment than flying abroad on holiday many times a year.

The blown up out of proportion posts, about I have paid for my electricity in my pitch? price is used so often to cover the inconsiderate use of using heaters to heat the sky in awnings yell

Then there are posts knocking those who drive vehicles that are needed to follow their type of holiday but do not have any real answersundecided

As for the warden we know and he was not the only one who would trip the bollard for that pitch ,when noting radiant 2kw plus with no one in attendance in awningscool

Those who use club sites will or should have noticed that the later type of bollards the trips are now accessable by the pitch userundecided and the even later type of bollard has to be set by the pitch user before use and trips when the  umbilical leads plug is removedundecided

So any one can now trip or reset their (or otherswink)as often as they like when overloading the supply. rather than running to the site staff to get it done, cool

Ps the Oft quoted 16amp supply is the max, and if there is a full site 16amp being drawn .on all pitches the main trips on site could activate , hence the notices to think of others when using the site supplysurprised

Again you state a warden you know, as well as other wardens, would indiscriminately turn off the electricity supply to someone's unit. I wonder if these wardens ever think of possible consequences. Maybe the customer has a battery for a mobility scooter or electric cycle on charge and turning off the power supply would mean these devices could not be used. Perhaps the customer is inside their unit using some form of medical equipment that requires a mains supply. Perhaps there is a meal cooking in a slow cooker.

Dont get me wrong, i am not condoning leaving a heater on in an unoccupied awning at all, but surly a better approach from the warden would be first to find out if the customer had just nipped inside their unit for a couple of minuets, maybe to make a drink or take a comfort break. If this was not the case and the customer appeared to be off site then i would expect the warden to switch off the heater and have a friendly word with the customer on their return explaining the dangers of leaving an unattended heater switched on.

Perhaps you would like to suggest this approach to the warden you know.

It is indeed a strange state of affairs that awning  heaters are allowed, when the following statement is put on the site details leaflet.

Electric hook-up

The costs of electricity are included in your pitch fee, but please think of the environment by considering your electricity use.

In no way can it be considered thinking of the environment, unless in the negative. Also of course there is now a charge for coupling up an EV, even a Hybrid one. Some of those might not consume any more than an awning heater left on all evening.
