Hi everyone,

Looking to book for 2019? Right now, you can book up to and including 31 March 2019. We've changed the way we put UK Club site pitches on sale so you can now book up to a year ahead, all year round. All you need to remember is whichever month we are in, you can book up to and including the same month next year. Find out more: Improving your Club experience and on our FAQs.

Ignoring the bit about deposits, which is a seperate subject, the gist of this then is that a H/S on a commercial site is dearer than a serviced pitch on a Club site....?

I too have found that on occasions, I haven't said commercial sites are cheaper, just that they offer a choice.

I would like the CC to offer more choice, but am happy to vote with my wheels when they don't offer enough choice.....

The club's choice was the same as the commercial but cheaper both are "serviced" pitch

The club's choice....

The Club doesn't offer a choice of grass or H/S (other than by booking a serviced pitch perhaps where available) on mixed sites, and seems unwilling to do so.......

I didn't bring price into it.......

Can I ask if you would have chosen a club site if a HS booking was available?

Yes, had 2 club sites booked from Frenzy day or thereabouts....

One a mixed site grass & H/S, the other all grass.

Site 1 C& CC had a nearby site to the CC one and allow pre booking of H/S, so have done thanks.....and from memory it was a pound a night cheaper for what that's worth....

Site 2 -CC- all grass- as the date has approached, and it's rained regularly, have cancelled the CC site & re-booked with a commercial site that could actually be bothered to toss a bit of gravel down for me to park on, and a bit closer to town.....

The site we are on is nearly full this weekend,on the available pitches

Nearly, so it's not full then..?wink

Available,  grass pitches out of service then..?

Often said on here, if what the Club is offering doesn't suit you, go elsewhere.  Five or ten years ago I wouldn't of bothered looking elsewhere, but the club has failed IMO to keep pace with customer expectations of choice, and is well behind the curve in providing all weather surfaces that take into account peoples desire to use their leisure vehicles over a longer season.

It makes little  odds to me where I spend my cash, but as a loyal fan of the CC I am a little sorry to see them lose my cash, and yes I know, the sites are full so they don't care, but if they used our cash to invest in providing more pitches and choice of H/S, they might get even more cash coming in......?

Thanks for the replysmile

I too am a HS fan and won't go on grass.

I think the club does care and does invest, looking at how new sites are all HS, and more and more pitches are being converted in to HS year on year the club knows quite well how popular they are.

But not everyone wants to park on gravel .....

I do. It would be nice to have the choice when booking, can't see any reason why the Club can't do this. Whilst I am sure there is not much competition for grass pitches at least you would be able to book one if that is what you wanted?

I do

Nobody is stopping you .... just don't think that everybody else wants the same.

except that while some do want grass, not many do. Look at any site and the HS pitches go first

Agreed. But those that like to be able to use grass don't scream & scream about turfing over the gravel.

Though I would if I could.
