Hi everyone,

Looking to book for 2019? Right now, you can book up to and including 31 March 2019. We've changed the way we put UK Club site pitches on sale so you can now book up to a year ahead, all year round. All you need to remember is whichever month we are in, you can book up to and including the same month next year. Find out more: Improving your Club experience and on our FAQs.

I did mention new buildings not existing buildings.

The question is would you prefer for them to still carry on using a  out dated design.

As long as they are as most find,  fit for purpose then I can see no problem iits not as though we spend very much  our time on site ,and if you try some of the latest upgraded sites ?

Although I have no problem with dated and had no issues with LMP facilities. I do find it a little strange that sites like Clumber still have the step access showers, while others were modified to the safer step less type years ago and are now being modified again. Perhaps it is an issue of lease duration. It would be nice to know why sites such as Clumber are not on the modification list.

Can someone please explain to me what booking a particular kind of pitch, and redesigning shower facilities has to do with being able to book sites on a rolling program?

perhaps people want to book their shower a year in advance? I'm planning on having one a year from today.

Getting back to the original subject I wonder how many of these future bookings will be cancelled 3 days prior!

I would love to book a pitch at York in July to see my stepson in a triathlon at Castle Howard.

Next time I will ask him to give 9 months notice as I see York is fully booked (apart from the odd night) through until January next year!!

What happened to the excitement of the last minute decision to take a trip away!

Rowntree will always need to be booked well in advance no matter what booking system is used.

The last minute decision to take a trip away is still there and part of the fun is searching out a CL, or other alternative site, where booking months in advance is not necessary.

Even more difficult this year to get a pitch in York with Beechwood Grange out of action getting a make over until September/October.

I am not sure what toilet blocks have to do with the thread either!  However the kind of pitch is very much in the mix depending on what your hopes were regarding the "Big" announcement as it was billed re the Booking System. Removing the "Frenzy Day" as it is often billed has one main beneficiary  and that is the Club because they will no longer have to devote all of it's IT support to the one day of bookings at the expense of everything else. From the Club's point of view that is perfectly sensible as it removes that one day of pressure and all the heartache it seems to cause some members. It may even help some members but I have doubts as to how many and we won't know that until we get some year on statistics. The point about pitch type is that why was that not incorporated in this change to the booking system as I suspect there are far more people who want a guarantee of pitch type rather than being able to book a year in advance. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I think Clumber was "refurbished"not so long ago when the lease was renewed
