Oh no! Not this old chestnut again, surely?

Look, we don't use an awning heater,  we don't even have a full awning. But could someone please explain to me why, for instance, it's OK to sit in your van with the heating on at, say 2kw, but not to have both the van and awning heating on at 1kw each?

Why are some folk so concerned that someone else might be using a few pence more electricity than themselves? It's just a nonsense IMHO ( speaking as someone who uses as little as possible, that is! wink)

Excellent answer M.

Trouble is, some think that 1kw plus 1kw equals 3kw...surprised

Not only that but if A does something a different way from B, then A is deemed by B to be wrong. C, however, thinks both A and B can do as they choose because it’s none of his (C's) business as he gets on with enjoying his holiday.

Everybody has the right to use the site electricity to suit their needs.   I personally have never used an awning heater,  but others may need to use one.   The CMC have no restrictions on awning heating so just go ahead and use your heater.

I guess the solution is not to heat the awning but only heat the people in the awning. We do use a quartz heater but it's only on whilst we are in the awning and 'need' it. We also use blankets to put round our legs which are not in the beam. Quite enjoy the ambience and experience, we are also mindful of the fact that not only heat but sound travels though canvassing  very easily!kiss
