I've never tried to walk the wrong way on an escalator CY.
I have however sat nice and warm in an awning quite efficiently.
Off topic but when are you trading in your MH (what's it mpg?) for a bike and tent? And have you sold off your apartment in Spain? Did you used peddle to get there or take a nice 'green' airplane?
You see everyone appears to have an elastic sense of energy usage. But some don't criticise other's usage?

Unfortunately, Mickey, you opened a can of worms by stirring up awning heating which, it seems, you have no direct interest in.
On the modernising front, you have failed to give us any clues as to what you want so it’s near impossible to help you.
In forum world, those two factors make it appear as if you're just taking the, err, Mickey. Sorry but that's the truth of it.
