Pump King

Could someone explain as to why the 'Pump King' thread has disappeared without explanation? It was put into a hidden folder, the live links were altered to delete all trace to the original site and members offers as if it never existed and all that is now on offer is a 'Right Shell' card. This is only valid on UK motorways whereas the 'Pump King' card covered any UK station with its offer.

Could the PK card with better benefits have been posted inadvertantly, and not meant for members but for HQ staff and the lesser RS card being offered just for us?

Not in hope for a reply but politeness costs nothing.

Hi everyone,

As it stands the offer with Pump-King is not available and as such the Pump-King discussion has been removed to avoid confusion and I apologise for the confusion already caused. If you have applied for the card, Pump-King and/or the Club will contact you directly in due course.

We are delighted to inform you that we have however launched an offer with The Right Fuelcard Company

The Right Fuelcard Company Card costs £3 a year and entitles you to an 8p per litre saving from the pump price on every litre of standard Diesel, purchased at all 53 of Shell's UK motorway sites.

We acknowledge motorway sites have a higher pump price than non motorway sites however now you have the option to get cheaper fuel without having to divert off the motorway (which could come in handy if you are ever running low).  Additionally, all of Shell’s motorway sites have wide lanes and high canopies which are ideal for caravans and motorhomes.

If this is of interest please visit The Right Fuelcard Company member offer webpage for full details.

To see the full range of offers available please visit the member offers webpage.

Many thanks everyone.

most unsatisfactory, you dangle the carrot, and after we have taken a bite because we think it is a great deal you take it away and offer something that is less than useless unless you do a lot of motorway driving in areas where there are Shell service stations. Not happy frown

Rowena, as I applied for Pump King via a CAMHC sponsored deal, I will hold CAMHC responsible for the protection of all my credit card details that i submitted to what i assume was Pump King.

Hi Rufs, Someone will be in touch with you directly to discuss and I am so sorry for the disappointment caused. I will certainly be feeding back everyone's comments to the relevant team as this seems like an offer which would be popular with members.

Thanks [Deleted User User], i see where you are coming from, to be quite honest the money i would save is not huge, it is the principal, CAMHC launch a full page add in the club magazine, provide a link to the Pump_King site and a CAMHC code for you to use, which i did, Pump-King take my £2 for set up costs, which is refundable once you make your first purchase of diesel, and then CAMHC pull the plug. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth

I wonder if someone could present on CT a list of where these Motorway Shell stations are so that an informed decision can be made about whether they were ever likely to be visited. Remember that there is only one motorway north of Stirling and none north of Perth.

As to sites having wide lanes and high canopies, I find that on every site I use as my Land Rover naturally heads for the HGV section.
