What changes would you make ?

If you could, what five changes would you make to the clubs rules, procedures, systems etc.

Mine would be

1) book 12 months ahead on a rolling basis

2) be able to book late checkout

3) pitch anyway on your pitch, nose in, sideways etc

4) never have all toilet blocks closed at same time for cleaning

5) more full service pitches

no moaning about rules are rules, you signed up etc, I just wondered if there were any common

threads.

I don't use an awning but often choose an awning pitch for the better outlook.

Hence my post. A recent site we were on, there were loads of single smaller motorhomers plonked in the middle of a huge pitch leaving me a choice of very few pitches that I could even think about getting our outfit on. Loads of blue pegs with sod all on them.

My outfit is can hardly be described as "small" and there is also the fairly large Land Rover to pull it, so I understand the problem well.

It is only made worse by the occupants of the said small motor caravan or camper departing at dawn and not returning until dusk on a day we have decided to relax at the caravan and enjoy the view - but we can't see it from the pitch we had to take.  More than once we have taken the recliners and other kit off to another pitch so we can sit in sunshine.

There is also a problem on these non-awning pitches that keeping to the peg (more or less), and with waste and water containers alongside, it is difficult to park the Land Rover with sufficient space to open the door without going onto grass. Not that it is a problem for a Land Rover, but it can be for the grass!

Another reason why I rarely would book non awning. I site caravan and car such that I can fully open drivers door with a few inches to spare.

I'd put money on it that price differentials will be introduced for 2019 for not only awning and none awning but also for grass and hard standings.

Have a price differential between awning & none awning pitches to encourage owners of little motorhomes with no awning not to hog white peg pitches.

We don't have an awning as such, but we do have a tiny pop up tent to put chairs & bbq in during  the summer months and we sometimes use our roll out canopy in the afternoons so we have to book a white peg as we cant even put a tiny pop up on a non awning blue pitch.

I would not put all my savings on it though

Would that they could be, but we were told just over a year ago that the membership was too thick to understand the difference between hard standing and grass when booking.  So just under a year to "educate" us all . . . ?
