If you didn't have access to any information then you would have to do as many of us do on the Continent, while coming to the end of your journey look for and follow the signs to a campsite and hope there is a pitch available.

The numbers using internet might be 95% but I would venture a guess that those having access to mobile internet is significantly less.

Even the cheapest of phones have access to the internet these days.

Sorry,  PeeDee  thats  not  true  !!

My  Mobile  Phone  can  be  used  for  phone  calls  &  texts  but  thats  all  I  ever  want  from  a  Phone    &  its  all  the  ones  I  choose  can  do.

Same here. I have a small, neat, clam style phone. Just about fit into a gents ticket pocket, gets lost in front trouser pockets. I do not want a large screen phone to accomodate when out and about

One  other  point  about  it,  It  sits  happily  in  my  right  hand  pocket  in  my  jeans.  So  when  I'm  driving  I  know  when somebody  is  calling / texting  me  but  it  is  nigh  on  impossible  to  retrieve  it  without  getting  out  of  the  'van  !!

You obviously don't look hard enough or don't consider >this< cheap. I bought one for my wife and I can assure you it has access to the internet and is simple to use. They are also available from many other sources, google Nokia 301.

The numbers of the UK population using the internet is round about the 95 percent mark,

Don't belive that figure. It may well be that that percentage have the ability to access the internet but I'm sure that it's a lot lower for those that actually use the internet. That figure is just advertising blurb put out by the internet companies and the Government, to put pressure on all those that don't use it to feel out of place with the rest.

However I will keep on using the site directory & map.Wink

Sorry  Peedee  but  I'm  not  going  to  squabble  with  you  --  my  fone  was  25  quid,  several  years  ago  &  was  the  cheapest  I  could  find  at  the  time,  that  would  do  what  I  wanted  and  no  more.

Now  Closed !

My Sony cost £35 and can access the internet although I do not use it. I use the internet as I feel appropriate but do feel many people overuse it and no longer consider what is the most appropriate method of communication.

Having said that I cannot think of anyone I know who does not use it to some extent even my 90 year old mother so the 95% figure might be right.
