Perennial Membership Fee Increase

Having just received the Jan 2016 Club Mag, we are informed that the Membership Fee is increased yet again from £46 to £48 from 15/12/2015. This is an increase of 4.3%, yet UK inflation for 2015 is forecast to be 0.1%. Over the last 3 years, the Membersip Fee has increased from £43 to £48, an increase of 11.6%, yet UK inflation was 4.1%. I fail to understand what justification can be made for these excessive and apparently ceaseless increases

I wonder how long it will be before Tenters are accepted as members to cc

I always assumed they could join if they wanted to, it's just from the price per night point of view there is no incentive. Although the other benefits, such as cheaper ferry crossings, would be available to them.

i take other types of 'everything is done for you' holidays....

i have room to park my MH on my drive, so no storage costs...

my wife already had a car so we didnt need an 'add veh with m/vUndecided'.....(surely those with caravans have the cost of upgrading from to a car that can safely tow the weight of the van?.....)

anyway, none of the above takes away from the fact that CC prices are rising quickly, memberership and site fees.

those that can make use of off-peak deals at commercials (7 nights for 5, or 5 nights for £50) are voting with their feet.

those who cant, and have to pay peak prices at club sites (after all theyre members...) are certainly noticing it.....

Get rid of the Mag and the army at HO in charge of it. After cutting their costs out there would be room to reduce membership fees. Any likelyhood of HO slimming down - as much as Turkeys voting for Xmas. Once again I say get back to basics.

Fish, surely you can't be serious?, take people's jobs from them just like that to enable a few quid to be saved on Membership fees?, if that is a serious post I find it shockingSad

It really depends what you want to spend your money on. We belong to the leisure club at a local large hotel. They had a book early for next Christmas board in the entrance the other day to get a cheaper rate, a mere £760 per person for 4 nights.  Add on a few bottles of wine and a spa experience and the Christmas break for two would be about £1700. It is full every year. It's exactly the same with the CC people are prepared to pay for what they know will be a good experience.

While I can afford all the increases, I don't see the sense in paying them if I can get what I want cheaper else where. I hope the Club has done its market research thoroughly because maybe a fair proportion of members will not be adding much to their bottom line.

Write your comments here...And your point is ? its the younger generation who seem to be wanting a different lifestyle as i said ,  we are  some of the last people who grew up with a job for life and a pension to match ,the younger generation  today have a completely different outlook on life it seems ,so the membership figure is not going to  improve as we give up, the sale of new  c/vans/m/vans by people with decent pension pots just fills up dealers forecourts with more and more used vehicles,

...yet, the CC are placing their product beyond the reach of those customers they are purporting to attract.....

that is my point...Undecided
