Having just received the Jan 2016 Club Mag, we are informed that the Membership Fee is increased yet again from £46 to £48 from 15/12/2015. This is an increase of 4.3%, yet UK inflation for 2015 is forecast to be 0.1%. Over the last 3 years, the Membersip Fee has increased from £43 to £48, an increase of 11.6%, yet UK inflation was 4.1%. I fail to understand what justification can be made for these excessive and apparently ceaseless increases

Yes please membership at £8. Dont really want the crappy mag.which should be self financing as most of it is adverts.

I think you have your answer in what you have written. If the mag is truely self financing the CC cannot afford to reduce your membership by £40, as they would then have to find that £40 from somewhere else.

My thoughts exactly. But, if the magazine could be read from a PC, the Club might save some money by not requiring it in print.

Does anyone know what proportion of C&CC membership have taken up the reduced fee for paperless membership?

Since we all seem to be paying up, even if somewhat reluctantly, I assume we must think that the overall offering is worth the money. Otherwise we would all be voting with our feet and going elsewhere.

The club magazine is not worth reading and as for the site fees they have gone up about £2 per night for this year , as someone else said its getting ridiculous and very expensive .

Good point Steve, I agree completely, don't whine about costs going up, do something about it-don't pay the cost-simple reallyHappy among the things I can control are-House & Car insurance, they attempted to increase the charges so I moved my insurance. . . .No ifs or buts or moans. It ain't rocket science.

Well, the site pricing structure is so complicated these days that it is difficult to be accurate about how much the site fees have gone up , but in many cases it is a lot more than £2 per night. They have also sneaked in an increase in the cost of the Jan to March site fees, which used to be the same as those for the low season at the end of the previous year.

Well at the moment i can live with a £2 per annum increase in membership fees, when i cant afford this increase it will be time to sell the caravan.

and, I think, membership is falling. So, to maintain income, the fees must go up.

so, members are voting with their feet/wheels, which is what happens when prices start to bite hard.

yes, a few quid on a a yearly sub isnt much, but that £40 odd adds £3 a night to the pitch price for those who only take their annual fortnight's break with CC, in addition to the £2 a night rise Nellie alludes to upthread...so, in effect making the CC site price a fiver less competitive than commercials....

for those who havent the time to take many nights with CC (unlike some on CT who absorb these increases over many nights touring) the unit price is becoming very high...

add in the cost (for many of these low users) of extra children and this makes these constant increases ever more noticable..

We are in the "lucky" position of not having to think about what it costs as if we want to we just do it,although I have the new price bandings we have not compared them with last years,...Now we know why the supplement has not been published, as i think the clubs public relations and sites departments would be under pressure from members to explain,It will be the wardens on site who will probably have to try to fend off the complaints,

I do not think its membership costs alone that ,if its correct, membership is falling ,it is a combination of diferent lifestyles these days, some where a holiday is.

 1 Everything done for you,

2 No space to keep leisure vehicle at home ,so storage costs +cost of larger vehicle or add vehicle with m/v

3 Camping is on the rise again as everything can be put in smaller car or small trailer,  this seems to be reflected in the  increasing ammount of sites now accepting tents, I wonder how long it will be before Tenters are accepted as members to cc
