Is it a rip off?

Hi I have a rant to get off my chest

Just booked a site for 21 nights for an eye watering £540!   After I got back on my feet I was informed that Caravan and Motor home club have increased their Easter fees this week two weeks early.  Why I ask. even the management were embarrassed and thought it were shocking.

I spent 5 nights last week on a fabulous caravan and camping club site in heart of Northumberland with all the facilities and with over 60s discount £8 pn!

After only just re-joining I cannot  see the benefits of staying with  C&M club prices are beyond out reach.

have to careful with the can't afford club site prices though, they then post they are going away over there and spending £50 per day or getting a new car/MH? What they really mean I'd rather spend my money on something else?

I really can't imagine any other large club, for example a golf club shall we say, having directors who would do a similar approach of keeping prices down for their 'poorer long term retired members' who can no longer afford the fees? Does this happen? do they keep the increases below inflation or to keep the business/club  running?I have no idea really, if I knew an ex director I'd ask.

Golf clubs often offer a cheaper membership that allows week day play only ...... or, at least the ones I have been a member of in the past, did

I can't see a reduced membership fee for off peak access only working for CC Ltd members but I could be wrong.

could you define pensioner as used by your club? I mean actually receiving a state pension or just retired?

National Trust do a reduced rate for "senior membership", and many places offer a lower price for what they call "concessions".

I think you'll find certain over there poster has said that.

You were the director of a golf club? that is newssmile

Mmm you mention a lower rate, strange as you keep going on about inflation being the benchmark? Was the fee set above inflation? did inflation even come into your calculations?

Were the membership fees were perhaps higher than the club's?
