Is it a rip off?

Hi I have a rant to get off my chest

Just booked a site for 21 nights for an eye watering £540!   After I got back on my feet I was informed that Caravan and Motor home club have increased their Easter fees this week two weeks early.  Why I ask. even the management were embarrassed and thought it were shocking.

I spent 5 nights last week on a fabulous caravan and camping club site in heart of Northumberland with all the facilities and with over 60s discount £8 pn!

After only just re-joining I cannot  see the benefits of staying with  C&M club prices are beyond out reach.

OK Brue so when somebody says that CC sites are too expensive what would you suggest other than look for alternatives. It seems pointless if they complain about the sites being to expensive and not value for money to suggest that they should carry on using them.

What else do you think that the club could/should offer?

cheaper prices?

Yes ,I do laughing, and not just Bonio's cool

P.S , we don't reserve Bonio's ,its first come ,first servedwink

Dear Husky - I don't want the full fat bonios, box and all, I have my own container so don't need a box. . I just want to be able to pop in, stock up on bonios (obviously discounted since I'm not getting a box) and head straight off again. Any chance?wink

No they dont but I was referring to comments on here. smile

CAMC also suggest and provide alternatives in the shape of CLs and rallies and discounted prices which is good, but could they offer a bit more I wonder?

Posted on 25/04/2019 15:51

Really, where? perhaps quote one to back that up?

As you well know there is a world of difference between being told to go elsewhere and  go look for cheaper alternatives/don't like the price don't buy it.

Why you think that people have a right to stay on club sites at 'their price' is fascinating!

brilliant!

However if HD shop won't let you do that, rather than expect him to change and complain (on and on and on) there is shop that will let you do that, so perhaps errr, go there?

Getting back to the OP, the complaint (or comment) was I believe about a cost of roughly£26 per night over Easter which I don't think is outrageous. But what's the point in complaining on here and then using the site anyway (did we ever find out which site?). It's only a rip off if you turn up and get charged for extras you were unaware of. From our experience, I'd say club prices are around the median in any area of the country, regardless of what competition there is. But "savvy" site users will pay if the site is where they want to be and appears to be value for money. And they do it on club sites in their tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands every year.

We're shortly off on a tour taking in 6 sites, 2 club, 2 the other club and 2 CLs. The club sites will be the most expensive because the other club gives us a discount and the CLs are not trying to compete. But the club sites are where we want to spend time, so for us it's a straight forward choice! smile

Is it right to expect special treatment from Husky when for a few bob more you could enjoy the whole experience of the box and stay to browse the shelves? 😋

As for going elsewhere, isn’t that a fact of life? If we don't like the prices and products in Waitrose pet section, we go somewhere else that better suits our needs.

Indeed Moulesly I think that I said on page one that it was a reasonable price.
