How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

here you go, Steve....

" I have had several conversations with members who admit to booking up weekends and holidays at there favorite haunts knowing that they will cancel a good proportion of them. One couple said they wouldn't be able to afford every booking they made but as they could choose the best weekend for them nearer the time at no cost or penalty they used it to there advantage."

...i found it a few posts upUndecided

Thanks BB

However this evidence is hearsay and as such may not necessarily be considered admissible. Not in a court of law anyway. CC is of course not a court of law. However, I would be wary of accepting something I was told, by someone I did not know. How can you have any gauge of accuracy in a chance conversation. I am assuming the person being quoted did not know them, as the wording is members not friends.

....obviously, i dont believe a word you say....Wink

its very interesting that when someone says something positive about a CC site or a service, its taken as gospel.

should someone have the temerity to report a bad experience or something 'untoward' we have cries of 'heresy' and 'burn him at the stake'....Undecided

i suggest you ask the poster if the comment (he may even volunteer the info) was made by 'friends' or 'members' and if they had been subjected to a polygraph test......

so, 'friends' might be truthful but 'members' of unknown origin, tell lies?

...and you said i was 'pedantic' earlier.....strewthUndecided

BB - I think you're getting a little over wraught and letting your anti CC prejudice show, judging by your second two paragraphs there. I don't take anything on here as "gospel", good or bad. I prefer to base things on my experience. I've spoken to probably hundreds of fellow members on CC sites but I've never had a casual conversation with a fellow member bragging about booking every possible weekend at the same site! Have you? Wink

Having tried several searches I have come up with this link. I suspect the forum is not up and running yet.

M, thanks for the lecture.

however, youll note, i was referring to Steve's post (which i quoted) not yours, who was the doubting Thomas, not youUndecided but thanks for replying anyway.

no one getting overwrought, other than you by the look of it, especially over something not written by you nor aimed at you.......and no one being anti CC.

why not have a go at Steves post where he suggested the 'folk' passing on the info couldnt be telling the truth as they were only 'members' not 'friends'...

so what does that say about his view of members....?

one could easily say that was anti CC, wouldn't you say?

BB -I think you are reading to much into it. The post you quoted was clearly hearsay. The subjects in question referred to as members. I don't know about you but I think I would have a better idea if friends were telling porkies than strangers. As to burning at the stake I'm pretty sure that was made illegal a few hundred years ago.

Why dont you ask 'fur ball' if he thought these people were liars?

i read his post in good faith, after all why should he (as well as these 'people') tell lies?

hence my comment to you (not MoulesyWink

Not sure I understand your post there BB. I'm not one to lecture anyone and I wasn't referring specifically to your reply to Steve - the forum isn't really constructed for 2 way conversaion is it? It would need a PM system to accomplish that.

My point, once again, was that it's easy for folk to say they've spoken to someone who claims to have made a load of bookings for the same site every weekend of the year, but that's just hearsay isn't it? (I'm not even sure we know if it was on a members only site so the members/non members distinction may be irrelevant anyway)

As you so correctly point out the CC is not very forthcomng with statistics but the little that they do reveal suggests that this block booking on frenzy day is a figment of certain poster's imaginations.

Well it just looks the same as CT at the moment as all I'm getting is an ERROR message. YellPerhaps they're using the same IT guys as CC!! Undecided OR perhaps it's been infected by some of the CT posters?
