How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

I think it would be a disaster if the CC took more Tents personally.  We have been Members of the Club for 35 years and are very happy with it as it is now.

Yes quite agree, we don't want any of the riff raff do we! Innocent

I think the feeling might be mutual. Surprised

Tent campers would only be interested in grass pitches, provided the C club  increases the amount of hardstanding's  overall, then think Tent campers would be fine, no single sex groups etc, and usual rules. Don't see a problem, cannot however see the point in PODS ? Who are they aimed at ? And NO statics please.

Our son and family enjoyed using a pod this year, especially as it was quite cold. They could leave their tent at home, still enjoying the feel of the outdoors and stay warm and dry easily. I think pods are quite popular, people like finding new ways of camping. They would like a caravan or M/H but don't have the means at present.

A remark totally uncalled for.  When we were younger that's how we started off.  Bought a tent, then moved to a trailer tent and finally a caravan as finances allowed.  Don't tar all tent campers with the same brush.  I'd sooner have a field of tent campers thatn some of the people we've met on CC sites!

Come on lighten up, it was made in fun, XTB907 is a new poster , don't want to scare him off ,do weCool. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

I wonder why DianeT thinks tents would be a disaster? I have heard similar remarks on here before. Personally I don't mind seeing a mix although the CC is primarily about caravans and motorhomes. I can remember a few years back when people weren't too keen on motorhomes.

As said before both clubs need to look across the generations and find what appeals to all ages.

If we do allow more tents in then perhaps on booking day we should have a proper pecking order, M/H's take first pick, teh caravaners followed by trailer tents then the tenters can have whats left which should work fine as they want grass pitches the rest dont?Sticking Tongue Out

Our all time favourite site has a mix of touring caravans, tents, motorhomes, campervans, half a dozen rental vans, and a couple of pods - plus a small swimming pool, a trampoline, a volley ball pitch, some keep fit equipment, and an owner who cooks meals and serves drinks on the terrace. The Club site world needs to change. How about a few tree houses?
