Dynamic pricing to be introduced

Apparently dynamic pricing is to be rolled out to all UK campsites during 2023.

Which means that those that book up to a year ahead will be able to take advantage of the lowest prices.

Those who for whatever reason cannot commit to booking so far in advance will be penalised if they wish to book closer to the time of travel because apparently the higher the popularity of a campsite and the closer to the time of arrival the booking is made, the higher the price may be.

As with all the changes that have happened during the last 6 months, where were any or more importantly ALL the members consulted and balloted regarding these changes?

Many older members (like ourselves) cannot commit to long term bookings due to medical considerations, appointments that may arise because of these etc; we have previously just set off when able on a ‘tour’ and then by way of the (what was) late availability checker booked ‘on the fly.’

We have already been penalised with the 21 day non-returnable deposit system which really could have been much fairer reduced to 7 days.

I used to fiercely defend the CAMC as a great organisation to be a member of but this latest move has been the nail in the coffin for us personally.

Nespresso?

Yes, they fit our Aldi machine, that takes Dolce Gusto pods as well, so we can get bargains on both options. £1.99 for 10 pods, they normally retail at around £3.50 for 10, so quite a saving. We buy them in bulk, along with Little’s flavoured jars, so don’t pay postage either. They are always sending us dynamically priced offers. 😁 (Just to stay on topic) TK Maxx is a good source of very nice, a lot cheaper pods as well, all sorts of strength options. Usually around £1.99 for 10.

how true is this dynamic pricing? has the clun confirmed or denied it ?

It’s already in operation. A fairly popular site that I booked last September for August 23 has already had its prices increased by 4.3%. I assume the amount will depend on popularity, it is already showing low or full for several dates.

It won't affect me as I rarely use sites, but that may change if they opt for last minute discounts to fill sites.

If only they had a dynamic website to match

Bump.....I wonder why the OP is listed as the last posting, as there has been no "Contents removed" notification, which usually results in that!

Nellie

What I can see but you can't is that a member new to the forum has made posts. Being new they have to have their initial post approved by Admin (not mods), this can take a day or two. So hopefully if Keeef can see this it will also explain why his posts are not appearing automatically. I am sure this is mentioned somewhere in the T&C's?

Thanks David. I wish that new member's post were approved more quickly, and that they are given notification for the delays in their posts not appearing. I rather fancy that some of those new members have just given up continuing with CT when they can't find their posts or responses to queries they have made.
