Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Hi Bakers,

Don't worry, I've got thick skin wink The Handbooks are on their way and we've got a couple of fixes ready to test for the CL section of the website. As you can probably imagine, we've all been working really hard on multiple projects at the moment, and fixes for the website are still in progress.

Failing that, feel free to give us a ring to plan your trips away smile

That's right, change the name and rebrand without consulting the membership, I bet the vast majority of members disagree including the caravaners with engines. Then make us pay for it by raising the prices, Its appalling. What's been wrong for the last 100 years. It has disgusted me so much that I considering belonging only to the Friendly Club

The first I knew of this change was when I received the letter yesterday. So much for consulting the ordinary members!  Logos and branding are very powerful tools used by organisations to create a following and ultimately secure a market share. They are tampered and messed around with at their peril. Look at Royal Mail some years back, branding itself Consignia. Customers did not like it and a year later they reinstated the Royal Mail brand and logo at the cost of millions. Leave the red pennant alone. It's an iconic symbol of the club. Instead, just add something to acknowledge motor homes being part of the club scene.

Recent "own goals" of the Executive.

1. Major waste of capital cost of Alan Rogers business

2. Fiasco of revamp of website which as delivered less than we had previously.

3. Wasteful "rebranding" following a relatively recent revamp of signage to "modernise".

Let us not forget these things when we vote at the AGM.

I am wondering how big a qorum we need for a motion to "tar and feather" those responsible.

CY I cannot quote on 1 as I have no knowledge, 2 I agree with but 3 I do not, I think it is a move forwards and away form the staid old image it previously had.  Hover I think you forgot to mention the one almighty blunder which was the Caravanner of the Year!!!

It's great to be included and recognised. Now we need more motorhome friendly facilities! Absolutely must be Eco/nature/small mammal/reptile/amphibian/small bird friendly mind just like this one. Not just a death pit for all the likes to disappear down lke some I've seen. Afterall we intrepid adventurers leave only footprints on the environment don't we!

I don't really care if they are eco friendly or not, just get the drains that you have to drag a lid off replaced ASAP.

New name - don't care, new logo - don't care. As long as the facilities and services don't decline I'm happy.

Seems like people get unhappy about the smallest unimportant things.

Incidentally I like the new logo.

The same Club...just better - or just the same Club?  I have been wondering what the better bit is ? Have I missed it?

I do not like to be critical of the intentions here to keep the club current but I have to say I do not like the new logo and it looks more like a logo for a garden centre or tulip grower.  I would be very interested to know how much this rebranding has cost the club, and its members. Is this going to be published?  Was this rebranding really necessary? Can you advise where the consultation with members took place as I do not recall receiving any opportunity to comment.

As in keeping with the modern club trend the 'just better' is programmed to occur ................................... soon(ish)
