Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

My missus changed her name when she married me

By your logic - should she alter her date of birth?

Cheers

Bugs

A woman's date of birth seems to be a variable function that increases linearly with time.

My father bought his first caravan, and joined the Caravan Club, whilst my mother was in hospital about to give birth - to me!

I spent my childhood growing up on Caravan Club sites.

Many years later my wife and I took up camping, and joined "the other club". We have had many enjoyable stays on their sites.

A couple of years ago we bought a Campervan (note not a Motorhome), and are now members of both clubs.

I remember our first trip to a Caravan Club site, and driving into site, I instantly felt at home with the familiar green signs and logo.

i don't know what the rebranded sites will look like, but it just won't be the same.

I really don't understand the new logo, unless you watch the video you have no idea what it stands for, it doesn't "say" anything. The logo of the other club says what it does on the tin, I suspect they will see an uptake in new memberships with the demise of the Caravan Club brand.

We will see how we get on this year with our two club membership, and see if we need to stay member of both

Jools

ps - why does the online booking firm refuse to let me select "2 axles"? and defaults to single axle? It always bugs me!

Alternatively, make caravanners park their cars in the car park and ban awnings. That'll allow more narrower pitches.tongue-out (The smiley indicates a tongue in cheek comment for those of you not familiar with the concept of humour.)

This is getting silly now. I repeat we are all members of the same club sharing the same hobby. Why are MH-ers suddenly the spawn of the devil?

They're not. They're equal now šŸ˜‰

Maybe it should have been re-branded as the Intrepid Explorers Club??

Granville says ''We don't know yet what the next generation of explorers will look like, but we'll be ready for them."

Nick Lomas Director General says ''now it's time to get ready for the next generation of explorers.''

The Director of Marketing says ''We want to encourage more explorers, adventurers and pioneers to join us''

No one seems too bothered about the current generation of 'explorers' do they?

Hello All.  Have just received the notification of the changes through the old fashioned medium of the postal service.

I would have to agree with some fellow members views that I don't recall any notification of the merger or logo change.  Was there any discussion or publicity on either the website or in the magazine?

I'm not worried re: the change of name but the logo is meaningless (yes, I have watched the how we designed it video) and dull.  Orange and brown were favourite colours of the 1970s -  perhaps there is a certain retro irony at work here?   Or maybe I'm just old and the 1970s has become fashionable again.

Would it not have been possible to run a competition  for  members to re-design the logo?   That way we would have been more involved with the changes and felt  'ownership' as management speak has it.

Your last point stinks of consultation ... and we've already had that ... haven't we?

It's great to be included and recognised. Now we need more motorhome friendly facilities! Absolutely must be Eco/nature/small mammal/reptile/amphibian/small bird friendly mind just like this one. Not just a death pit for all the likes to disappear down lke some I've seen. Afterall we intrepid adventurers leave only footprints on the environment don't we!

I like the new logo. Clever design reflecting a modern club for a modern age. A lot of the comments on here are to be expected... people are generally resistant to change. It'll grow on them

Just one piece of feedback I would give is that the logo on my iPhone App changed two days ago. I nearly Deleted User it because I thought I'd been hacked!
