Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Absolutely no need for this silly, expensive name change. Whether trailer caravan or motor caravan we all use caravans - so "Caravan Club" is/was a short, snappy and descriptive name.  I look forward to it being brought back by popular demand.!

I thought there had just been a name and logo change for the club. Judging by the strength of feeling on here, I have clearly missed something. Has my first born been abducted for some arcane ritual sacrifice?

I felt the need to write something in support of the team at what I suppose I should now call the CMC.

As a child I enjoyed very many great holidays in our family caravan on CC sites.

When with my own family we moved from a tent to a motorhome I joined the club immediately.  However, I always felt that the club looked a little old-fashioned compared to others in the marketplace.  There's a surge in numbers of caravans and motorhomes being sold in the UK in recent years.  My understanding is that one of the big growth demographics is that of young families.

Let us mourn the red pennant but embrace some 2017 rebranding.  This should not mean that long-standing members are in some way valued less.  Maybe a new look and an obvious inclusiveness towards motorhomers will attract some more members to enjoy the benefits of this great club.  Would this not be a good thing?

Keep smiling RochelleCC and the rest of the team.  Leading change is not meant to be easy!

How many extra  hardstandings and sites being open all year could be paid for with the money spent on a pointless rebrand. how much did the consultants take for this rebrand

Could drop site fee's or membership fee's but no lets be the Apprentice, it's all about the brand.

Can i apply for shares now please?

All I can say is thanks for wasting MY money. I can only assume that people who find this exciting must have a very dull life.

I assume I can say goodbye to membership being held at the same price for a year now, and maybe having a bigger rise now.

Also why wasn't this sent out with the magazine saving postage, surely it could have been mixed with the rest of the junk.

So they have been ready but we've had to wait months for the great announcement is what you're saying 😐

Well my new handbook arrived this morning.

After being a caravaner for 27 years and now a motorome owner for the last 6 years I think this whole discussion is non productive.

Without the Motorhome members you would have a lot less members and all the club running costs would have to be funded by the caravan users only.

Plus normally a Motorhome takes half the space on a site so this could lead to more available pitches.

Come on let's all play nicely!

As a member of the club for over 25 years we received a sticker to recognise this. Maybe a replacement sticker is in the post with the new logo. As a way of recognition of our "service" it would have been nicer to be given a years free membership.

considering this statement on the NEW website

"One of the reasons we’re making these changes is to better reflect our broadening membership; embracing our diversity and reinforcing our sense of community."

am I now allowed to come to a site on a Friday night after 8pm due to having to work or am I STILL restricted to an 8 pm latest check in

also with the new changes will I still get kicked off a discussion for voicing my VALID opinion by a moderator ?

Kind regards Mark

Oh dear  ! Looks like a breakdown in communication here - perhaps I should say a "disconnect" as that may be more in keeping with modern parlance.

Setting aside the cost of all this change, I have to say that I feel totally underwhelmed by the whole episode. Also, very sorry to loose our traditional  / original identity. In my hand I have two new logo stickers which arrived in the post today. At the moment I'm unsure whether or not to use them - they don't appeal to me right now.
