Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Management can waste as much money as they like but at the end of the day most people will refer to the original name. This has happend to countless companies who have tried to change their name/image with expencive rebranding in the past and its turned out to be a waste of time and money.

Just an aside.  I notice there will be a report from the Camping, Caravan and Motorhome Show tonight sometime in the 6-7pm news slot on ITV - certainly in our area (West Midlands)(just heard a between ads snapshot).  Not sure if it is on the National news or the regional.  It will be interesting to hear if they mention the 'change of name'.3

Edit by DSB: It's on ITV Midlands at 6pm - I'm guessing it will be toward the end of the programme...

Hello All.  Have just received the notification of the changes through the old fashioned medium of the postal service.

I would have to agree with some fellow members views that I don't recall any notification of the merger or logo change.  Was there any discussion or publicity on either the website or in the magazine?

I'm not worried re: the change of name but the logo is meaningless (yes, I have watched the how we designed it video) and dull.  Orange and brown were favourite colours of the 1970s -  perhaps there is a certain retro irony at work here?   Or maybe I'm just old and the 1970s has become fashionable again.

Would it not have been possible to run a competition  for  members to re-design the logo?   That way we would have been more involved with the changes and felt  'ownership' as management speak has it.

This has excluded trailer tent members from the name if the club is after being politically correct

I posted a comment earlier...thought I would be one of a few with negative views on the rebranding.  Just logged in again to see what others have thought.  Surprised (but inwardly pleased) that so many more feel the new name pointless and the new logo even more pointless.  Not an inclusive decision but one made by a marketing lead team now keen to spend Club money (sorry invest) in new signs, uniforms and everything else with a logo.

What is Red Pennant going to be called in this rebranding.....Red Pennant....now that is a name like AA, RAC and Ford that is an established brand.

My 4 yr old Daughter would have loved the competition and would have done a much better job! So much for motivating future members. Someone has got things very wrong!
