Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Stop wasting money on the rebrand and get the website to work properly.

Rochelle

Saying "that's not strictly true" rather implies that there is some truth in it!  Please explain further.

Actually that's a good point Trevor, and now I've re-read Rochelle's reply I'm not so sure myself.

Rochelle - did you mean "that's strictly not true" - i.e pre-booking of specific pitches by (any) members is not going to happen (as opposed to site managers allocating suitable pitches for units) or is there some truth in the rumour that some members (in this case motorhomers) will be able to choose a specific pitch on booking?.

I'm not sure where the rumour started but it would be good to have a definitive answer.

The Touring club referred to earlier is a good name. That's what we do after all and it covers all units including trailer tents

Oh we're explorers now though undecided

There are not many positive comments David, because the majority of members don't feel it is necessary to make a change. If asking for democratic vote of all members is moaning, I resent it. As a members club, all members should have a say in how it is run especially on such a big issue as this, not decided by a few people.

How do u know the majority of members don't like it, I assume the mean the majority of posters on this tiny forum which cannot claim to be representative of the membership, it's just the same people shouting loudest.

as for it being such a major change....is it really. A new modern logo and a slight chance of name that now includes a group people who seem to one of the most popular forms of units i.e. Motorhomes..

This is a very sad day for Caravanners.  The requirements of Caravanners and Motor Caravanners are very different as we have discovered over our 35 years of owning and using a caravan, and I suspect that this will change will not benefit the caravanning members of the club!

More importantly I am intrigued as to how this expenditure on a totally unnecessary re-naming and re-branding has taken place without any consultation with members as to how club funds should be spent.

The club has catered for Motor Caravans, Tents and Trailer Tents in addition to Caravans ever since it became a condition of the site licencing regulations back in the 1980’s, so to me this is a totally worthless and frivolous waste of money.

Many posters on this thread are not regular CT users as far as I can see. As for the response I suspect that it is not just the name change that folk object to by any means

Surely it is irrelevant how often a member posts on CT?

My official letter and stickers arrived this morning.

I actually like the change and the logo (although personally I would have made the logo a bit bigger).  In reality, I think the proof of how sucessful or not this change has been will be in what happens next.

Of course it isn't relevant but EasyT was responding to my post where I suggested it was the same old. He made the point that a lot of you aren't regulars. Calm down and carry on.

On such a major change as this, why were members not asked? Personally I object strongly to the change, which apart from the money being wasted on rebranding, is totally unnecessary. Why do the committee wish to abandon our history ?. As a member for 25 years, I am totally against this change and ask other members of like minds to protest and ask for a vote on this change.

Looks like this post will be the most written here on CT. Opinion seems overwhelming that it is a waste of money and totally in unecessary. Will someone at Ho listen- no chance,
