What is the GDPR or General Data Protection Regulation?

It is a European Union (EU) regulation on data protection and privacy that applies to all organisations processing the personal data of EU citizens. In the UK, it replaces the Data Protection Act (1998) and comes into force on 25th May 2018.

What is the Club doing about GDPR?

We commissioned a data protection review back in 2016 and throughout 2017 and 2018 the Club has been busy preparing for the new regulation. This preparation has included: a full review of the way we process personal data, providing dedicated GDPR training to all Club employees, temporary/contract staff and relevant volunteers, appointing a Data Protection Officer.
