Pleasant Stay in North Brittany

We stayed here for eight days in may-June 2016. The site is a large one but the touring pitch areas accounted for only a small portion of this. The lady at reception speaks excellent English and is very helpful. Our pitch was private, being surrounded by hedges, and had its own water tap and drainage. We found the toilet blocks to be clean, if getting towards the point where a bit of refurbishment might not go amiss. An excellent feature was the shower rooms which each incorporate a wash-basin and adequate room to change. There was also plenty of hot water and the push button operation delivered more water than is usual in Europe. The site has direct access to the River Rance via a steep pathway and the twenty minute walk along the river to the beautiful medieval town of Dinan is a must but when you reach the ouskirts of the town it is still a long uphill route to the centre, which is beautiful and very well preserved. We took the motorcaravan for a drive to the coast at St Lunaire and Dinard which was well worth the visit - the sand at St Lunaire is outstanding - clean, white and fine - and the sea is a beautiful shade of emerald. This was a very pleasant stay overall.

Enjoyable stay

Most enjoyable stay - very friendly and informative staff.Perfect location for visiting surrounding areas, especially the medieval city of Dinan and Saint Malo. The restaurant, bar and mini market were A1. Facilities were excellent very clean and modern will certainly visit again.

Stopover for St Malo

What a brilliant site.  After completing 3 months travelling through France, Spain and Portugal we booked La Hallerais as a night stop prior to catching the ferry the following day - mistake!  Of the 22 sites we used this site was definitely in the top 3 and having experienced the peacefulness, the superb layout of the site, the friendliness of the reception and restaurant staff, the cleanliness of the facilities and the proximity to picturesque Dinan,  we wished we had booked for longer.  If, like us, you are towing a trailer it is best to approach the site from the north and not,  as we did, through Dinan.

Stopover for port

We booked this site as a stopover for St Malo so stayed for one night only.  Clearly lots of others were doing this too! We were pleasantly surprised and could easily have stayed longer as it would be a good base for visiting the local area. The restaurant on site was exceptionally good - the 3 courses for €13 was excellent!  We had a pitch close to the reception building so were able to use the wi fi from our caravan which was a bonus! The toilet/shower block closest to us was clean but a bit jaded.  The one further into the site was more modern. All in all, highly recommended!

Enjoyable stay

Great site for Dinan Port and surrounding area which we love.  Excellent restaurant.   Shower block not heated and unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and evenings were very cold, but facilities were spotless. Some pitches were a little small and awkward to reverse into, But overall a great site.  Would definitely visit again.

Excellent site and location

This was our very first trip to the continent and France with our caravan.  We were very pleased with the site.   Staff were very friendly and helpful; site was well maintained including hedgerows, grass and colourful flower beds; Best toilet/shower facilities of our holiday;  TV/Games room and Pool for children.  The location was ideal, the walk to the very historic Dinan Port and Dinan along the bank of the river Rance was very nice and there is a small cafe ideally sited by the river halfway.  The north coast is not far by car for visiting Mont Saint Michel, St Malo, Dinard, Cancale (great for seafood) etc. Only issues were:  Pitch was on a slope requiring double height ramps one side.  WiFi is only useable from reception/TV room area.

Best site I have ever stayed in!

The only unfortunate thing about staying at this site was that we stayed there right at the beginning of our holiday and no other site can compare. The pitches are large and surrounded by lovely hedges which give privacy and the grounds are immaculate and surrounded by beautiful flowers. The facilities are always clean and tidy. There is so much to do within the site too, which would be great for families with kids. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you and are a definite asset to the site! The walk to Dinan is stunning is a definite must!!  All in all, I have stayed in dozens of Caravan Club sites in England, and this site beats every one hands down.

Happy bunnies!

All round, happy with our stay. Loos, showers etc. big and clean. Restaurant reasonably priced and good food. On site shop a little sparce, but supermarket (with clear directions from reception) a short drive away. Walk into Dinan, well worth it.

Superb !!!

We have been members for 30+ years, and have travelled quite a bit in France. This is with out doubt one of the best, if not the best site the club uses. This August, was our 7th or eighth time staying at Le Hallerais and it just gets better and better. Beautifully laid out site, excellent pitches and facilities are really, really good. Site staff are all bilingual and speak excellent English, they will even let you try out your French with them, nothing is too much trouble for them. A superb run and delightful site, peacefull and quite, and so handy for Dinan and Dinard, St. Malo. A credit to the Commune of Taden and the Committee who run the site. Defiantly be returning again next year. Highly recommended.

Wished we had stayed longer

We stopped for a couple of nights in early July. We hadn't booked and were surprised how full it was. We had a good sized, level pitch with it's own water point and a bit of a view into Dinan. We walked along the river path (which we could have cycled) into Dinan while we were there. There are two washblocks, we were nearer the older one which is dated but kept clean and heated. Would stay there again.
