A well presented tidy campsite with easily accessible pitches off tarmac roadways. Friendly staff and fast free wifi available in the TV/Reading room. A good number of very large clean shower cubicles. Very cheap pitch fees and a good location - Recommended.
We had an excellent week here in August 2017,the site was clean, well organised and just the ticket. On other reviews people complained about schoolchildren, they should have talked to the party leader/s, they are very sensitive to that sort of thing. Walking down to the Rance and turning right gives a very pleasant 20min. walk into Dinan, turning left gives an equally pleasant 45min. walk to the last lock on the river before the sea. Two eateries are across the bridge making it an excellent guilt free lunch spot (and wine may be taken with lunch due to no one having to drive, now that's what I call win win)
I know you should not end on a winge but it is only a small one:- 09:00 for collecting breakfast ? AN HOUR TOO LATE!!!! Still 5/5
A review is always subjective but we really enjoyed our stay and we could have stayed longer. Easy check in, great facilities. Yes you could pick fault, as the pitch was a little lumpy but I'm sure there not all like that. We enjoyed the pool, gym and tennis courts. Nice walk into town along the river. I'd go back tomorrow.
People who complain will always complain.
Just back and agree with review below. Unfortunately where we were sited near reception we noticed herds of English children going round in little gangs until about 1030pm at night shouting and running about. Though generally the site was quiet at 1100pm. I appreciate it is peak season but this was the third site we stayed on and was not a problem elsewhere. The facilities are good, wash block clean and modern with toilet paper and hand wash! Lovely walks alongside river and into Dinan. Pool warm and clean. Pitch sizes vary variable, we just about fitted our campervan and awning on.
Very disappointed with this site. Wished we had gone elsewhere.
Three pitches near where we were allocated were taken up by a school party of very young children (about 9 years old) who ran around in and out of the toilets from 7am till after 10pm with little supervision from the school helpers.
On another part of the site was a senior school party who, one night, were yelling and screaming till after 1am. When mentioned at reception they said their 'guardian' was on site! Perhaps asleep?
Will definitely NOT RETURN.
Shame as the site is in a lovely position with a riverside walk into Dinan direct from the campsite
Easy access from motorway. Made to wait for a pitch, but staff unaware the pitch was already unoccupied. Pitch too uneven for all corner steadies to level van, reluctantly reallocated us. Most pitches very narrow, some very wide. Next to nothing in 'mini market', which was hardly open during our 10 days - same for the restaurant (mostly closed) owned by independent individual, not the site. Pool closed at 18:30 every day - had to leave poolside completely. Staff tolerated people. No notifications when 'fast food' services were due. You need to be fit to walk back up footpath from local town. Not planning to go back there - shame really, as site in a great location.
There are many positives with this site, within a mile or so of motorway with very easy access, large, hedged pitches with plenty of local walks and extremely friendly and helpful staff on reception, in addition, it stays open further into the year than other sites in the area and is extremely cheap. I was there for two nights and neither the bar, restaurant or shop was open during my particular stay as it was so late in the season. However, the main reasons I have marked the site down are twofold. The sanitation block is old and crumbling and does not match up to Caravan Club standards in my opinion. The second reason is that some of the pitches (including the one I was allocated) have extremely tight access as the road is so narrow with pitches on both side, obviously you can get on and off, however, it was the last thing I wanted to do following the long drive down from Lincolnshire.
Having followed the directions and sat nav combination we took a few wrong turns, we found it not easy to find, maybe me. Great site as with all sites some pitches are better suited to certain people, we got pitch 100 near reception good for wifi in the van but people pass all the time, though after 11 pm it went really quiet. No restaurant open and shop not that well stocked and limited opening times. Really lovely walks around the site especially along river bank to town. Would definitely recommend especially if you like a walk. Will go back.
Pleasant, well organised site with direct access to the river Rance, within walking distance of the medieval city of Dinan and only 500m from Taden where there is a very friendly bar! Next to the site is an decent inexpensive restaurant and small shop. Plots vary in size but all are quite large and most are fairly flat.
I stayed in September great site no problems with the polarity ( and I did test it ) so no need for swapping plugs etc. Facilities were clean and good. Only reservation was my pitch had been muddy before and where I had my awning was uneven and we did have a couple of nights of heavy rain so had to dig a little channel ?? But overall enjoyed my stay and would go back again and met some great people and staff helpful ??
