We used this site on our way into France for our first overseas caravan holiday, staying 5 nights. I can repeat the other comments, the site and facilities are clean and well looked after. It was particularly comforting to see the security patrol man and his big dog patrolling at night. Pitch was as described and plenty of room to set up the van and a porch awning. Unfortunately I have to down score the 'facilities' section because, quite frankly, the shower was pretty poor. The water supply barely lasted a minute without having to keep pressing the tap and was cold after the first minute or so. Also the whole cubicle flooded very easily so remember to leave your shoes outside and take a plastic bag to put your clothes in!
We went into Belgium a couple of times and it was a short and easy drive across the border. This is very popular for a one or two night stop over on the way home and we would definitely use it again for that purpose.
Immaculate Site Good for stopover before the tunnel
This was our first time here and would definitely stay here again on route. Very friendly staff first class amenities could not find one fault with this site. Beautiful camp site and so close to Calais.

Great Place to be after a long drive
This was our 3rd visit to Gandspette and as always, it's a joy to be there. Good food at the restaurant, and cheap wine 4 Euros for a carafe! Lovely swimming pool area. I can't praise Gandspette enough, my favourite site.

As good as ever
We've been using Gandspete for many years now, we find it's the ideal place to draw breath and perhaps stock up with a few little essentials before returning to dear old Blighty. The site is always clean tidy and well kept, it's the ideal location for visiting the WW1 sites around Ypres and don't miss the Blockhaus which is in walking distance just down the road - this must be one of the most stunning - and chilling, reminders of WW2.
The restaurant on site has always been good - but it was even better this year - delicious food at very reasonable prices.
Keep up the good work - highly recommended.

This is a very good caravan site and local to Dunkirk and Calais. The site was very well managed and maintained, staff very friendly and facilities are excellent. Our suggestions for improvement related to the Wi Fi system. We could not get reception in our motorhome and even when we stood alongside the aerial it was difficult to get reliable reception. One small issue was the low trees overhanging the driveways - they scraped across the top of the motorhome
Stop over or stay a while
Have stayed here a few times, as a stopover and also for a few nights. Unfortunately this year it was just for a stop over so didn't get chance to visit the excellent restauraunt.
Facilities are very good barring one set of urinals which are typically French and leave you on view to all, if you don't like that other toilets are far more modern.
The local vet speaks excellent English and reception will give you his details in advance if you want to make a booking.
I would certainly use again and recomend to anyone.
Good site
Great site.welcoming staff, great pitches and exellent
Restaurant.if you are using the Dover/Dunkirk ferry,
This site is only about 30 minutes from Dunkirk.
Highly recommend.
Worth more than a stopover
We used this site for two nights after the tunnel and 3 nights before, very spacious pitches with good grass and drainage with most needing a small amount of levelling.
The facilities were spot on although the toilets can be a tad chilly as its only the individual doors that seperate you from staring into the woods, as they are built onto the external wall.
Loved the top notch food in the restaurant, reasonable price with the takeaway price reduced even further. Nice staff, helpful and smiling.
We visited the 'Blockhaus' where the WW2 VI and V2 rockets were manufactured and fired from, well worth a visit. Dog walks in the nearby forest and within walking distance a Vet for your dogs passport requirement.
Excellent stopover
We have used the site several times and been very satisfied each time. Good facilities, including restaurant. Less than 30 minutes to ferry or train. Staff very helpful. Always been a relaxed ending to a day's long travel!

Good stopover
Good stopover - friendly staff and extremely clean amenities. It was relatively quiet but we did find the security guard with the muzzled Alsatian a little over the top and slightly intimidating as there were few people there. (We appreciate that there had been trouble with football so called fans that week.)
It's very geared up for families and hence we think it will be noisy in holiday time - I think we would give it a miss then but for our time there we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
