Another return visit to what has become our favourite UK site. Living in Yorkshire we only go for long weekends, but could quite happily fill a full week or more here.
We were on one of the new pitches and the site of the now demolished warehouse - it is much better for being "one site" now, but you'll always get the folks who prefer the old way! Facilities are consistently excellent and the wardens very friendly and attentive.
A brilliant all year round site very popular, so I always book before the main season starts (booked our March 2015 break back in August 2014) and always get in for our chosen date 1st or 2nd weekend in March. Didn't encounter any speeding motorists on site this time thank goodness.
Good As Always
We have been visiting this site for many years. We have watched over the past six months the demolition of the warehouse and now the new section to the site. The site is much improved for no longer being divided, but I feel it's is a shame the club has not kept the original character of the site by using hedging to divide the pitches. Also the new metal security fence which now has screens attached really would benefit from a planting a new hedge. It's good to see wardens Janet and Carl, back again with their new assistants Janet and Phil, make them a cracking team.

Excellent location
With this site being so close to the centre of York it is always going to be popular. Although it is always full or very nearly it is a fairly quiet site, with only the adjacent play park causing a small amount of background noise. The site is well set out and kept very tidy. The toilet block is warm, very clean with excellent hot showers. Rception was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The wardens are always there to give a helping hand. We will definately be back.
Regular visit. Positive improvements.
Visited the site many times in our motorhome. Great location. Love York. After long days shopping visited the Slip Inn and Swan nearby for refreshments. Dog friendly. Great fish and chips at Fishermans Wife chippy out of back gate. Will return. Again.

Early spring break at Rowntree Park
Just spent our first weekend of the year at Rowntree Park. Very impressed with all aspects of the site. Location could not be better for access into York. Facilities were excellent and very clean.Would take bikes next time as the area seems to very bike friendly. TV and mobile reception was excellent. Will definitely use again.
Lovely Weekend Break
Really enjoyed our first visit to this site. Very pleasant wardens. Toilets and showers immaculate. We stayed in our campervan on a non awning pitch and it was very spacious. Excellent location for exploring York or having a walk or cycle ride along the river. Will definitely return.

Rountree park short break
Just returned from few nights at our favourite site since the alterations. Really nice now they have completed it good size pitches. Pleasant wardens but don't arrive till twelve as warden moans even at five to twelve. Wish they hadn't cut the hedges down so far on the old pitches as you can see right into neighbours windows not very private. Had really nice stay look forward to returning.

Just an overnight
Our stop was just for a single night but it was excellent, very helpfull staff and such a lovely location in that wonderful city. Must go for a longer break.
Wonderful Site, wonderful location
We thought that the Site was great. It was only 10 minutes walk from the centre of York. The facilities were always immaculate and the Staff were very friendly. The only drawback was we didn't book for long enough and we are hoping to go back in the near future.
