what more do you need from a site .. very clean central to most every thing and friendly staff oh and we had great weather too . on our visit 18th to 21st sept 2015

Brilliant site!
This site is one of our favourites we don't live far away but it is so nice to be able to park up and walk everywhere and enjoy York without thinking about car parks! Really hope the CC take over the old swimming pool site next door now all knocked down .. The perfect extension to an already brilliant site.. As it books up so quick! No wonder.. Lovely staff too and so well kept throughout .
Great breakaway
Having just spent 4 nights at this site we found it ideal for all attractions in and around York, all within walking distance of the site. I have some difficulties in walking distances but found the walk into and around the city was well within my capability. The site was very well kept and wardens friendly and always helpful. At the time of our visit there was some construction work being carried out around the reception/toilet block, but every evening all of this was cleared away and kept clean. As we only had time to visit SOME of the many attractions, we will be back to discover more.
TIMES
Site as always clean and tidy despite work ongoing BUT 1. why clean gents at times when most used ?
2. When asked if able to stay on after the leaving time of 11:15 were told only if we booked a further night ! I can understand why the rule is there narrow roads and such but on a Monday afternoon towards the end of Sept and over 30 plus pitches empty, a bit much ! If we were able to book a further night then they must have been available !and we would not be stopping others coming on as could not have been booked ! Packed up in pouring rain ! SPOILT by RULES
Our favourite site
We would visit this site more but it's always booked up!! Brilliant location - next to the river and only a ten minute walk into the city centre. Rowntree Park next door is a great place for kids or just a stroll with the dog. Great facilities and wardens are most friendly and helpful too. Would highly recommend.

Mathematical Impossibility
What a shame that it's impossible to give 15 out of 10, because if it was, this site and the
fantastic team there would get a 15 off us! The welcome and help that the wardens gave us when we arrived was outstanding and could not have been better. The site itself is a joy......modern, clean and in a fabulous location for York city centre, a 10 minute walk away - without doubt the best site we have ever stayed on. York is a great city and you'll never be short of things to do during the day or evening. (I can recommend a visit to Evil Eye on Stonegate, as far as i'm concerned, the best cocktail bar in the world!!!Not that Caravanners drink of course.....) . Many thanks to all of the team at the site - you helped to make our stay memorable and we can't wait to come back again (already booked!) Ian and Sue

very helpfull wardens
stayed 13 September as always lovely clean site went in to office 9am Monday 14 sep in hope of a cancelation no luck but the warden was so helpful rang Hawes for us and booked us in very pleasant and helpful wardens thankyou sorry did not get your names great site

York Rowntree
Excellent site. Wardens very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Site is a very short walk from the centre of York and all of its attractions. The site is very clean despite the building works in progress during our visit. Look forward to returning.
Rowntree Park
Great site a few minutes walking distance from the beautiful city of York. On site everywhere is spotlessly clean and looks very pretty with abundance of hanging baskets.
Without a doubt the most helpful wardens of any Caravan Club Sites we have visited to date.
