Lovely site

Lovely quiet site with very pleasant wardens. Close to York, quite a few shopping centres near by and the park and ride is close to the site. Very clean but the shower block is beginning to look a bit shabby and could do with an update. Frustrated by the poor wifi on this site. Great for bird watching.

Christmas market

Despite the weather, we enjoyed our stay at Beechwood. This is a well managed site, but the older showers are a little tired, brown tiled bases, yuk! The park and ride is very near and essential for motorhomes, very slick and easy to use, even on the busiest of days.

Convenient

We booked this site as a base for York Christmas Markets . Extremely close to the park and ride and a massive John Lewis, M & S and Next. Great friendly wardens, very polite, toilet block is typical Caravan Club standard- would return .

Great site

Had to transfer to here when Rowntree park closed due to flooding and thanks to the excellent wardens and good site facilities still had a great holiday. It was a few years since our last visit and we will certainly be back next year.

Excellent site

We received a lovely welcome to this well kept, good located site. The facilities were spotless at all times. Although you can hear a little road noise, it certainly isn't a problem to us and despite my wife being a light sleeper, she had no trouble what so ever getting a good nights kip. For dog walkers be aware that you have to travel away from the site to walk your dog as they are not allowed off site, but there is a large fenced off exercise area where they are allowed off their leads if under control. We found this adequate for our needs as dog owners. All in all we had an amazing short break visiting Yorks city centre, Stamford Bridge and Eden camp.

Lovely clean site

Lovely clean site with very helpful staff and plenty of room on the pitches. We lost our original booking on another site as it was flooded, but the staff here rang us as soon as they got a cancellation. Close to York, only £3 return on the bus which ran every 20 minutes, but you had to find the bus stop as the site directions were no good for this service. We will certainly be back again!

Great as usual

Well we have visited this site quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Beautiful and clean, nicely set out site. Ideally placed to pop into York centre or to pop to monks cross shopping area just up the road.  We are so pleased with the site we are going again at Xmas and have been told there is a new year party so watch this space. Brilliant wardens, very helpful and pleasant & polite

Great Site

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this site. On arrival at the site the wardens were very friendly and helpful. The site is well laid out with spacious pitches and even although the site is so close to York it has a very rural feel to it. York is a 10 minute drive away and the city has a wide selection of shops, cafes, pubs etc as well as musuems and attractions you could easily spent 4-5 days just exploring the city. The site is also close to Whitby, Pickering, Goathland, Harrogate etc making it a great base to explore the surrounding area. We visited the Elvington Air Musuem which is close to the site and it was great a very good selection of military aircraft and some exhibitions relating to aviation and WW2 the musuem is well worth a visit. Overall a great site in an excellent location and one we hope to return to soon.

Great site

It is over 5 years since we last stayed at this site and what a lovely change this time, lovely welcoming wardens, nice site well maintained and although not as easy access for York town still close. Previous stay was the complete opposite. With Rowntree Park site always full so much of the time this is an excellent alternative.
