Amazingly Helpful Warden Gary.

We were due to arrive at our favourite site (YellowCraig) around 5pm on a Thursday evening 29th April. My hubby is self employed and things never seem to go according to plan when we are to go away in the caravan, added to this I am a Nurse and Nurses never get off on time! Thus the stars aligned to wreak havoc and after a very stressful & tiring day, we set off much later than anticipated. Gary had already rung my hubby to check we were still arriving and told him not to hurry and to drive safely. A lovely thing to do. He must have been sufficiently concerned, as he then rang my mobile and said it was not a problem if we wanted to put our arrival off until the Friday morning, by this time we were in the car and hoping to just beat the 8pm deadline. Fat chance! We arrived in the pouring rain at 20.50 and immediately went onto late night arrivals. Now as anyone who knows YellowCraig will be aware, the late night arrivals has no electric. Something that is incredibly inconvenient, when you just need a cuppa or a snack after a stressful journey and some light to feed our 4 Labradors! Without any hesitation, Gary came across and asked my hubby to give him the electric cable which he duly plugged into his socket, giving us access to light, heating and cooking. Gary went out of his way in an absolute downpour to come out of his warm caravan to ensure we had some comfort. We’ve met a number of good Wardens, but not many who go out of their way to ensure members are looked after with such care and concern. He continued in this vein, when I had to change our summer holiday due to planned hospital appointments. It appeared that we may have to book elsewhere as there was no availability- not a problem for Gary who listened to my problem and without further ado, came up with a solution. It’s not just the fact that Gary does what he does, which in itself makes him rather special, its also the manner in which he does it and the the obvious care and concern he demonstrates while delivering a first class service to members like us. WELL DONE GARY AND THANK YOU SO MUCH. Without people like you who go the extra mile the Caravan Club would quite literally crumble. You and like minded Wardens are the Clubs bedrock. We shall be back to our favourite site soon and hopefully will not be the guest of “Late Night Arrivals!” Grateful thanks, Helen & David Stephenson.

Great Site and location - serviced pitches would be much better.

The on site wardens were very polite and helpful. We had a wonderful stay as usual at Yellowcraig and look forward to returning again next year. Very good Covid -19 procedures in place at toilet block and dishwashing areas for those who required to use them. We like most families used our caravan facilities for most of the time we stayed. It would be excellent at some time in the future if there were serviced pitches with mains water just like your Edinburgh site. Is this something you are already thinking about in your future plans, especially when we have covid-19 situation. This would save using the same area as everyone else for collecting and disposal of water. We do appreciate that this all takes time and revenue to implement. I would like to comment on the Wi-Fi situation at Yellowcraig which as you know isn't too good at all. My sister paid £11 on 2 occasions for 7 nights on her 2 visits in August and October and found the connection very poor in October much worse than August, to be fair August wasn't that great, so much so we had to take her home early during the October visit in order to do an extremely important live zoom meeting for a mortgage application, as she had had an offer accepted on a house during our October visit. If she hadn't gone home, she would have missed this very important interview (she had to wait 2 weeks to get the meeting in the first place) and could have possibly lost the house. She would have had to wait until the lender could arrange another zoom meeting. To be honest the lenders, are currently extremely busy with mortage applications, goodness knows when they would have been able to conduct another zoom meeting. My sister felt that by going home it didn't not only cost her the £11 for the wi-fi, it shortened the holiday (as she didn't return with us to continue the holiday just in case the bank required to contact her again during the rest of the holiday)and the inconvenience and expense of having to take her home. We would appreciate your help in speaking with your Customer Services Department in order to consider refunding even the second £11 or perhaps providing a voucher we could use towards our future bookings for the inconvenience caused. Is the wi-fi connection at Yellowcraig something you are looking to improve going forward for the future, as this site is an extremely popular site for members. Thanks

Absolute perfection

Our stay was as usual... outstanding . The staff are in our opinion the BEST in your club network . They never pass without a smile or wave ... happy to chat ... . The facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained ...and we felt very safe during these COVID times of risk . I was delighted to see kids having fun .. loved hearing their laughter .Mark and Sam Have been familiar characters during the last few years here ... kinda feel like friends ... so much so I had a wee cry when leaving and popping the barrier card in . Will def have a visit to Edinburgh site as they move their next season . in addition we are looking forward to seeing Darren and Sam as they are primed to head wardens here next year ... they too are exceptional ... . We have booked several stays here for next year . Thank you all for helping make our stays so safe and relaxing . Stay safe .

Great site

Great site for walking along beaches and woodland in just about any direction. North Berwick is left and about 3 miles along the beach and not too sure where you’d end off if you turned right, but you’ll find numerous gorgeous little bays along the way before you get there! Site facilities were spotless and wardens (as usual) were super friendly. Had a great few days 😃

Wonderful Yellowcraig

This is absolutely one of the nicest sites. The Site Wardens are helpful, smiley and provide lots of information when arriving. The facilities are clean and seem to be working well with the COVID restrictions, we didn't have to wait the times we went. The dog walk is great on site but then you have the amazing Yellowcraig Beach which is right near the site and is dog friendly. There is a good walk to North Berwick where you can sit on the front and watch the activities in the harbour. Another plus is the easy access to the A1 for travelling. Definitely will be returning to this site again.

Best club site I've been on for quite a while

Is it a carpark? No. Plenty of small enclaves. Are there grass pitches if required? Yes and plenty of Hardstanding ones as well. Seasonal Pitches available? Yes there are. Mid Week Discount? Yes Dog walking facilities? The club have one next to the reception area but you have some fantastic beaches and dunes to wander over to your hearts content. Peace and Quiet? Heard noisier Cemeteries. Wonderful Scenery? See answer in dog walking Wifi? We use our own and found the signal to be fine but plenty of people who use the club wifi were complaining that the signal was only good by the information hut. So, a negative. All in all a smashing site to spend a weeks break. We don't have children or dogs but both seemed to find plenty of enjoyment on and off the site. The wardens were pleasant and the booking in procedure easy peasy. Don't know about the sanitary blocks as we used our own but couldn't see why they couldn't have opened 2 washing up sinks, one at either end (of 4) and still maintain social distancing. Also agree with a previous reviewers about hand sanitisers should be supplied at water points. It wouldn't have cost a great deal in the grand scheme of things. Would stay again, and we are people who do not use a lot of club sites.

Fantastic site one of the best

This is definitely one of our favourite sites. Just got back from a wonderful week 13th -20th Sept 2020. Fantastic weather hot and sunny. Amazing staff who are working so hard in these awful virus times. Spotlessly clean and we felt very safe and happy during our week. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so perfect. We will definitely be back it's such a beautiful place.

Lovely Break - Great Wardens

Wardens doing a great job in difficult circumstances with COVID, etc. The wardens had a very unpleasant job to sort whilst we were there - a broken sewer - but they just got on with it and fixed it. Excellent spirit among the wardens when dealing with this horrible task. We like this site because of its location and the dog-walking and easy access to the dog-friendly beach. Despite some very unseasonal wild weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again and shall return. Big 'up' for the wardens!! Thank-you.

Fantastic Site

The close proximity to the beach, sand dunes, woodland and the John Muir Way make this site idyllic. Our dogs love it and we will certainly return. What makes the site so nice is that it is divided into little enclaves with grassy banks in between so you never feel that you are on a big site. Facilities are excellent being well maintained and very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and there is lots to do in the local area. So many beautiful beaches particularly Bellhaven Sands. Dunbar is well worth a visit and we had a lovely meal at the garden centre there. North Berwick Fry has the best fish and chips by far. Lovely relaxing holiday.
