We stayed at this site on our way home from the Highlands and would definitely be back. Its a large site but with lots of small areas with grass and hardstanding pitches, and the site was very well cared for. It is a just a few minutes walk from the beach with amazing walks and there is also a large wooded area with lots of paths so brilliant for dog walks. Unfortunately it rained the whole day we were there so we didn't manage to explore as much as we would have liked, but did manage a meal at the local pub, which we would recommend and the bar area is dog friendly. We look forward to returning the the future.
East coast favourite
Essentially a quiet, peaceful site with a range of pitching options set close to lovely coastal scenery. The sandy beach with offshore islands is within a few minutes walk. Do explore beyond the immediate coastal strip by taking walks/bike to nearby villages where golf and bird watching are popular. Countless food options in the villages of North Berwick or Gullane to name only two. We are still finding new places of interest even though we know the area well. There is much to see and do.
The site is spacious, level and fairly sheltered. The wardens are welcoming, helpful and busy about the site keeping it neat and tidy. On arrival the entrance area was a bit congested because, like ourselves, many units arrived too early having failed to note the hour delay to opening. It is not easy for members to break the habit of noon opening which many members prefer as witnessed at many sites this year. The Wardens met it all with good grace.
Be aware that Club wifi is very poor and the phone signal is not great.
Last Minute Booking
Seventh and final 😥😥, stop on our five week tour of the Highlands, needed a stop off to break our long journey to Lancashire. Had availability for a last minute booking read reviews, so booked it. All reviews were spot on, very nice spacious site, different areas to pitch. Haven’t used facilities but sure they live up to CAMC standards, very friendly welcome apart from that not had to contact wardens but they are out and about. Had a lovely lunch at The Castle Inn, in lovely village of Dirleon , ruined castle there but only opened at weekend. Tesco 4 miles away. The site is quite a way out but the absolute selling point is the fantastic miles of beach and dunes, just minutes away, great for dogs and sure any kids would love the rock pools. The site is also on the John Muir way. Short stay this time but will definitely visit this site/area again. The site photo doesn’t really do it justice! We did manage EE phone signal most of the time and also 4g, but we were pitched near Reception, so maybe that helped?
Ideal for the beach
The first time we have been to yellowcraig to stay, the staff were excellent,we had a dog with us and he loved the beach for running around.A great idea to have a little shower area for washing the sea and sand off our four legged friend. The only thing that we couldn’t get a mobile signal(3)we managed to get a Mobile data signal just at the side of the car.
Got a great tv signal though.
Lovely quiet location
This site is a hidden gem, very quiet and peaceful and is a few miles outside of North Berwick, so if your looking for a busy and noisy site then please do not book here, it might not be good for teenagers either as they will get bored as there only outlet is the beach, which was fantastic.
We had 4 nights here and packed in a great deal
Walk into North Berwick along the beach took us about an hour and had lunch at the seabird sanctuary, really lovely place and great food and views out to sea. Highly recommended
Walked back through the town and caught the bus back to Dirleton. Stopped off at the castle in now under new management and had an evening meal, it was lovely and the pub has a really nice feel to it and the young staff were excellent as was the food.
Long walk back to the site took about 25 mins but nice as the sun was beginning to set.
Took the long walk to Dirleton and the bus to Edinburgh, took aver an hour but it was nice just looking at the villages and gardens en-route before arriving at Waverley station. nice walk-around the sites in Edinburgh. Lunch and toilet break in M&S where the food was good, cafe a little busy as was he city high street. Took a nice stroll through the grass market which has lots of nice bars and cafes, tree lined with many places to stop and take in the views. Had dinner in the local open arms hotel opposite the Dirleton castle very nice
Spent a day on the beach and its really easy to go for a few hours and come back to the site for lunch and then take in the John Muir walk into North Berwick or Gullane if you go the opposite way. Good spot for star gazing too as there in low levels of night light pollution.
Nice facilities and spotless as expected, wardens were constantly working hard to keep it looking great on quite a big site but its all split into smaller quite private cul-d-sacs which made it feel much better that a large open expanse. You can choose trees or open air but please arrive early, we got there at 1230 for a 1300 opening and were 11th in the queue of arrivals that day and just as many behind us by 1320 when we eventually booked in, but it was worth the wait.
Will be back for longer next time
Don’t go by first impressions ……..
We arrived at Yellowcraigs and to say I was gutted was an understatement….. I had thought I had booked a hard standing pitch, and there were none left and all the grass pitches looked tired, and worn where awnings had been previously. As I say don’t go by first impressions…… after speaking with the lovely’s wardens it became clear that I hadn’t booked hardstanding as they don’t offer the facility to book and so we took the best pitch we could find which turned out to be spot on for sunshine and peace & quiet. Yes, the pitches were Sandy rather than grassy however this is due to the popularity of the site and that the pitches are constantly busy so not getting a chance to air more between uses - some users I note could be more ‘kind’ with their choice of groundsheet to help make this easier for the wardens though….This site has an amazing location, we walked to north Berwick which was about 3 miles via the John Muir way and came back along the stunning beach. Lovely meal at the Castle Arms one night, and great fish and chips from the superfry at Gullane too. We ended up so happy on our pitch we managed to secure an additional 2 nights from cancellations - again many thanks to the wardens for being so helpful with this and also for cancelling our booking we had in place with another club site. We spent hours on the beach and our wee doggy has never been so tired out. Facilities were spotless, and nice to see 2 x washing machines on site which meant less queuing - yes I know we are on holiday but it’s nice not to have pack for a full 2 weeks and go home with bags and bags of washing!! A different site if you are used to the military rows of hard standing pitches on some club sites, but beautiful, peaceful and very well run. We will definitely be adding this to our list of favourites.
FANTASTIC SITE
Just back from our fourth trip this year to Yellowcraigs it’s truly a fantastic site .
Wardens are great very friendly and have the site and facilities always in tip top condition you always see them busy doing things .
Beach is stunning even on the not so nice days .
You can walk along beach into North Berwick 3 miles or take shorter route through woods and golf course.
We’ll definitely be back again before the years out.

Love it
Absolutely love this site, couldn’t be situated in a better place.
Walks along the beach to either North Berwick or the other way to Gullane is just gorgeous, so wild and uninhabited it’s no wonder that it proved the inspiration for Treasure Island!
Lovely wardens and spotless site ... can’t praise it enough!
Great site. This is a site we visit at least twice a year and it is great
This is a very good site with great Staff/wardens who make you very welcome. The location is great and so are the surroundings very close to the beach and plenty of walking is available if desired. Only downside was the site WiFi we have visited this site at least twice over the last ten or so years and have never even bothered with 4G or site WiFi but as we had our two year old grandson with us we thought to try the site WiFi and it was very poor and definitely not worth the daily costs
Brilliant
Great sight well laid out. Staff were excellent couldn’t be more helpful. Lots of facilities and all were spotlessly clean. Great for dogs and kids 10 mins from the beautiful beach. Definitely one we’ll be back to and soon. Would highly recommend.
