Been coming here for 30 years - could be my favourite CAMC site BUT and it's a BIG BUT - so so many dogs on almost very pitch - the trend is not one or two dogs but multiple dogs per owner - and whilst one or two owners have impeccably behaved dogs (ie do not bark) sadly most dog owners appear completely oblivious to the often incessant barking and high pitched nervous yapping from their beloved " can do no wrong" pets!
It can start at 7am and can be heard until almost midnight - so much for peace and quiet!
Please dog owners keep your dogs quiet and under control!
I am not anti dog (owned dogs for 25 years) but when you have a site full and about 75% of pitches with multiple dogs it's like a Kennel Club convention with in excess of 100 dogs on this lovely site
More consideration dog owners please.
Finally the wardens here do a great job but they are dog owners too so don't expect much sympathy from them on this subject!
Great site
Just had a lovely 5 night stay at this site we have been here before the site is well worth a visit its very well looked after by the very friendly staff its in a great location excellent for dogs lots of walks from site and one of the best dog walks on site its just a shame that all dog owners are not picking up on this lovely dog walk I can't understand some people.
Excellent Site
A favourite of ours but agree with some of the previous reviews. We did see some queue jumping and there was a certain Motorhome that had some fortress structure built around it plus an additional car! This is a popular site and we will be returning in the near future, facilities are clean and staff are friendly. We love the area and there’s plenty to do.
Queue jumping
Queue jumping.
Stayed in May 2022 for 2 weeks
This practice was apparent on a number of occasions. It works like this.
Whilst in the queue before check in the passenger of the vehicle alights walks into club site find a pitch they want and then leaves a marker as if occupied. The variation on this is for the passenger to stand guard on the pitch until the rig has arrived.
On one occasion a passenger even asked to borrow a bowl from a pitched caravan owner to claim the space.
This was declined by the way.
The staff are aware of this problem.
I have no first hand knowledge of this problem on other sites but certainly exist at Yellowcraig

Great site, great location but.....
Ok, so we’ve been coming here for a while and it remains a favourite. Not just for us, but many others, given the occupancy which is always pretty full.
And it’s easy to see why.
The rather special sandy beach, a few minutes walk away, the John Muir walk to North Berwick and Dirleton, the closeness of Edinburgh itself. All these and more make this a “must stay” location.
But (and there had to be one, didn’t there?)...
The site is becoming quite tired and is almost a victim of its own success. The pitches can be quite cramped, and the closeness of other guests rigs can be intrusive. Some guests have taken to using huge, massive awnings which more than double the footprint of their caravans. This can impinge on others available space.
Similarly, the small “side on” pitches are really only suitable for small campervans and yet large caravans and motorhomes have to be squeezed on them due to the lack of pitches elsewhere.
The facilities are perfectly adequate, but not outstanding, and they are in need of some renovation.
So, it’s really time for a refresh and refurbishment with perhaps some consideration for a rethink on the layout of the entire site. This might require fewer pitches, but it’s a bit like a restaurant taking on too many covers. Everyone suffers. Far, far better to have fewer, better pitches. Everyone will be happier.
For now, visit the site and enjoy the location. But be aware that you choice of pitch may be limited, and limited in size... and close to your neighbours.
Pleasant site
Pleasant site, close to beach and a nice walk to local village, although the only shop seems to be a very nice ice cream and coffee shop. Site is fairly level and we had no trouble pitching up, with easy access to amenities.
Excellent site
Stayed in April for a weekend. Was the most recent of multiple stats at Yellowcraig. All the Wardens are excellent and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The site is in a great location with easy access to a huge sandy beach, forest walks and nearby North Berwick. It’s our favourite site in the network. A real gem in the crown.
Another perfect stay
We stayed for a long weekend, Friday to Monday. 2 adults and 1 dog. We have an Eriba caravan but didnt want to have to "turn" the van as we often do in order for our door to face the same way as UK caravans. Some sites seem to struggle with how caravans/cars must be positioned but the warden said it was no problem so long as within safe distance and also said they would be on hand if we wanted to turn the van. We were offered a pitch to pull onto sideways which was perfect. Lovely people and made for an easy check in. Thank you so much!
Great site, immaculate facilities. Very short walk to the beach with fabulous views and easy beach walk into North Berwick. We love North Berwick and find shops and cafes etc have such a great ambience. We always go to Zanzibar for coffee, best coffee by far in our opinion! During this stay we had Sunday lunch at The Castle Inn in nearby Dirleton. Excellent food and service. Dog friendly in bar and a garden room. Around a mile from the site so it's a nice walk before and after lunch or dinner
We are looking forward to planning our next visit at this perfect site.

Lovely Site
Very Nice site. Great if you have dogs (we have) as there are more than ample walking opportunities. Maybe it's a little noisy at times with quite a bit of unnecessary dog barking. The site staff were excellent; very friendly and communicative . We shall return. Eating out? We ate dinner at the Castle Inn in Dirleton where the service was truly awful; no main courses for 3/4 of an hour. In the end we walked out! We will not return there. The Rocketeer Cafe in N. Berwick is excellent for a snack and they even provide a blanket, biscuits and water for your dog!
great site
we loved Yellowcraig and we will be back as soon as we can
