Brief stay but will return

We stopped off for two nights in our caravan on our way back to Aberdeenshire in early October. A well laid out site, divided into separate areas. We had hard standing but the grass pitches were well drained and dry considering the wet weather of late. Lovely place for dogs, close to the beach. Handy for Edinburgh, all in all a lovely area with lots to do, we will visit again. The wardens were very helpful and friendly, a well kept site.

Short stay

We have stayed on this site many times and enjoyed every visit. Love the site, location, area and plenty of walks with the dog. Lovely walks on the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. If I have one negative comment is that due to the site being so popular and busy, the showers look as if they are becoming tired and maybe could do with an uplift. Will certainly be using it again.

Yellowcraig club site

Yellowcraig is a large site with well drained grass pitches laid out to provide a choice of peaceful or child appropriate areas. Very helpful staff and high standard facilities. Adjacent to beach and a couple of miles to town with shops pubs etc. Only stayed one night but could imagine being there for a few days - interesting area.

Wonderful site

We stayed for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this site. The close proximity to the beach, easy access to the John Muir way and lots of other nearby walking meant it was perfect for us. It was the school holidays and the site was busy but we never needed to queue for the showers and the facilities were always clean. The staff were extremely pleasant too and always had a smile and a greeting for visitors.

Pleasant site

A pleasant site within a short walk of the dunes and beach, which is good for birdwatching, walking and searching rock pools. If you are thinking of booking, it might be useful to know that the only hardstanding pitches are ones 'with an awning'. The bus stop is one mile away from the site, not 1000 metres as stated in the site book. There is a footpath from the site to the bus stop and there is a good regular bus service to North Berwick and Edinburgh. North Berwick is 3 miles away, but it is easily reached by a pleasant walk along the beach (at low tide) or along the John Muir Way. We visited in the school holidays, so, as to be expected, the site wasn't quiet and peaceful, but I imagine it would be at other times, as it is in a very tranquil setting. Also the facilities were not entirely clean and tidy, but this was due to people leaving them that way and not to a lack of attention on the part of the wardens. If communication is important to you, then you should note that there is a limited mobile signal at the site and no wifi.

Campervan Visit June 2017

Well laid out secure site with pitches grouped in small areas with more grass than hardstanding.Friendly welcome and good to see the high level of wildlife awareness. Facilities up to usual club standard with good MH service point. Excellent location with the beach a few minutes walk away. Also good for walking and cycling around the area, with the gardens at Dirleton Castle and the Nature Reserve at Aberlady Bay being well worth a visit. Pleasant walk to North Berwick with the ability to sample the best ice creams we have tasted in a long time!

Great time at Yellowcraig

We have just returned from a 3 day stay at this site. On arrival at Yellowcraig we were greeted by warm, friendly, helpful staff at Reception. The site grounds are immaculately kept, even down to the large Dog Walk. The showers and toilets are pristine, as is the amenities block. The staff pride themselves on keeping everything absolutely top-notch and boy does it show!!!! The nearby beach (just a 10 minute stroll away and only about 5 minutes at normal walking pace) is absolutely beautiful. The easy pathway opens out on to a very clean and quiet beach with lovely views. You can then choose to sit and laze on the beach, in the sand dunes, or continue your walk along the beach and around the headland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back to this stunning site. Congrats to all staff involved.

Yellowcraig does it again!

My wife and I had 6 days relaxing at Yellowcraig on this our fourth visit over the years. The site is maintained in excellent condition and a friendly welcome was received from wardens Richard & Maggie Walker who were most helpful during our stay and during the following week when my son, his wife and two young children used our caravan. The site, though busy over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend was nonetheless peaceful throughout or stay. The toilet and shower facilities are spotlessly maintained and not in the least bit 'dated' as one previous reviewer indicated. The location is excellent with the natural attractions of the nearby beach and sand dunes plus the benefit of being close to the facilities of North Berwick and within easy striking distance of Edinburgh for a busier day out. The train link from North Berwick to Edinburgh is highly recommended and excellent value with children travelling FREE. An excellent family site which we will undoubtedly visit again.

Excellent Site

Visited Yellowcraig in May as part of our annual Scotland trip and was not disappointed. Like all club sites, facilities were modern and spotless but what set this site apart from some others were the excellent wardens, nothing was too much bother and these folks should be commended. Hopefully we will be back in the sometime future, several lovely cul-de-sac type areas giving seclusion, loved the beach and dunes & all so dog friendly, huge dog walking field adjacent, close to Edinburgh and North Berwick 5-minutes down the road - ideal. Keep up the good work!

An absolutely perfect site for my needs.

The site had had little rain so the grass pitches were fine. Plenty of space between each pitch meant an element of peace and privacy. Busy during my stay with most vacating units being filled almost immediately. Glad I booked in advance even though it was out of school hols. The facilities were clean and not busy despite number of people using them. Early morning is better! The most positive aspect for me was the proximity to a fantastic place to let my dogs off the lead. There was woodland and sand dunes leading onto a beautiful beach. Very safe for dogs. The walk to North Berwick was lovely along the wide beach. The warden kindly advised me of a number of dog friendly cafes for a coffee stop before walking back. A perfect site in every way which met my needs especially for my dogs. Will be visiting many times I suspect! Thank you.
