The Den needs to go.

We stayed for two weeks, 8th to 22nd July. Usual high standards and very helpful wardens but I,m afraid the Den needs to go. All it does is attract the teenagers in the evenings who aren,t the quietist of people and use language I used to hear on building sites!!.We picked the pitches which were next to it because it was off the busy road and our grandchildren could play in the circle,it was perfect during the day and early evening but come 8ish the teenagers would arrive.

Good site but facilities need updating

We visit this site quite often. It's a good site in a great location and the wardens do a good job of maintaining it. However, the toilet/shower block is well past its "use by" date and is sorely in need of modernising. Also, we've noticed that there is a significant problem with water pressure on the site this year. There's conflicting reports of why this is, but it certainly needs to be addressed as one of the water points completely lost pressure several times during our 5 day stay. Come on CAMC, it's time to invest money in what is always a popular and busy site!

A brilliant site in a spectacular location and immaculately maintained.

We return here whenever we can. The pitches are great either grass or hard standing and the facilities are modern, clean and well maintained.. Access to a great coastline and North Berwick via local bus and access only 25 min via train in to Edinburgh from there. Lots of local walking and things to do and see. Can’t wait for our next visit in the autumn.

Return visit

This is one of our favourite sites, have been a few times including 3 weeks ago. Site was busy but peaceful and the staff friendly and helpful. The weather was also excellent blue sky from morning till night. Lovely walks along the beach to North Berwick, as well as through the woods to Durleton. There is also a hose pipe for showering pets, boots, bikes which is a good idea. Have already booked our next visit.

Great site for families

We spent half term at Yellowcraig. Great site and perfect for all ages. Only 5 minutes to the beach and great cycle tracks from the door in either direction. Only 15 mins to cycle to North Berwick or 15 mins the other way to Dirleton and the lovely new ice cream parlour. Some great pitches. Ours was in a little 'cul-de-sac' with lovely neighbours too. Got the train from North Berwick one day into Edinburgh, really cheap too less than £10 return. We'll definitely be back!

Hemmed in again!

We came back to visit for the second time in a few weeks. Having been undecided after our first trip. This time with our grandkids. Obviously same gorgeous surroundings. Surprisingly same good weather. Disappointingly different pitch but same squashed in feeling. Even worse than the previous visit. We have been to many CMC sites large and small. None seem to have such small pitches as here. They are definitely not ALL standard size. It is such a shame as it is a stunning location. Our boys loved the beach the sand dunes and playing hide and seek in the woods opposite. They loved the play park in the wooded area before the beach and the ice creams from the van in the car park. Unfortunately we were not keen on how extended families from 3 pitches congregated on the pitch next to ours and received up to six visitors from off site at a time. Meaning at one point at least 14 people were on the pitch next to us. Along with allowing their dog to exercise freely chasing its ball whilst ours was dutifully on a lead. We did complain to the wardens who said they couldn’t do anything on hearsay and would have to see it for themselves. It really wasn’t hard to see and I’m sure would have been noticed by wardens on other sites we have visited. Although the area is absolutely stunning and is brilliant for touring various areas Sadly we would be extremely wary about visiting again.

Great Site

Spent the weekend at Yellowcraig, first visit to this site. All hard standings were taken but we had a very nice side facing grass pitch. Cleaning and ablution facilities excellent and the staff excellent. One issue however. The WiFi is only a hotspot connection available in some of the communal areas of the site. This is noted in the ‘at a glance’ section of the site description which I assumed was a simple summary of all the site information so didn’t read it . Under the site facilities heading it only states WiFi. I think that’s a little deceiving. Why not state the limited availability under site facilities? Mobile signals are also very poor with only periodic single bar 3G. 4g non existent (O2). Both issues concerned me only because we felt out of touch especially as my elderly mother is unwell. Other than that lovely site, great location, the walks are superb and the staff excellent.

Great for nature lovers, a few buts though

Great site with easy access to the beach at Yellowcraigs park being only 5 minutes away. Bit of a haphazard layout with a good few pitches being side to marker, this results in a park with a packed in appearance and certainly not the space or privacy of other CMC sites. As is common with many Scottish sites wifi is rubbish with no repeaters across the site meaning take your kit etc to reception to get a signal, it struggled after 50yds. Chip van comes on Sat night 4-8pm, expect a wait and a hit or miss on the quality. Public car park nearby gets the boy races in after midnight so there can be some noise. Access road can get busy around midday with people waiting to get in - to the point of the road being blocked. Very handy for likes of North Berwick Acid test - Would go again

Lovely peaceful holiday

We arrived on the site on the bank hol Monday, so site was half full and we picked a lovely plot overlooking a field. The site looked clean, grass cut and well maintained. It is just next to Yellowcraig beach which is great for children and dogs in particular, and the sunset down there was second to none. The village the site is next to is a real beauty spot and North Berwick is just a couple of minutes drive away. The wardens were freindly and welcoming and very informative about the surrounding area and site facilities. The toilet and shower blocks were just the same as many club sites and were kept clean and fresh. Overall we came home feeling that we'd had a relaxing holiday on a peaceful site with excellent places round about to visit, and therefore highly recommend this site. This is our second holiday on this site and we will definitely return.
