Screaming Kids!

Just arrived today and already fed up! From 5pm till 9.30 pm kids running round the park, bikes, scooters, screaming and shouting non stop! Circling caravans. Wardens not even checking noise and shouting which they must hear! Would put us off returning! Wardens need to address this issue.

Great site - shame about some dogs

This is a great site in fantastic location. The facilities are good and the wardens are very friendly. We enjoyed two weeks here and found plenty of places to visit and to eat. The only thing that marred our stay were many instances of dogs barking loudly and persistently. Some campers arrived with four or five dogs. Most were well behaved but we were pretty fed up after two weeks of the few people who were unable or unwilling to control their excessively barking dogs.

Return trip after twenty year gap

We first visited the site when our children were in first school when we wanted a site near a beach and other attractions. We always had great weather. 20 years later we returned to this site and again the weather was good. Now having a dog the site was ideal with loads of walks and opportunities for a bit of sea bathing! The site hasn't really changed much but remains lovely. It was wonderfully quiet though there weren't many children around. Look forwards to entertaining our grand daughters here. Only negative is the lack of wifi and phone coverage. Tolerable until you want to research places.

Oh how the dogs enjoyed themselves....

We stayed here for four nights and wished it had been longer. A well maintained and spacious site with small groups of caravans in several 'dingly dells'. The dog walk just outside the site gate is extensive but dogs should be kept on a lead. I did wonder about this until early one morning I spotted a deer...….good job my Deerhound was on the lead! The beach (approx.10mins away) provided all the off lead fun a dog and human could want. We just wished we'd booked a whole week...….

A lovely intorduction to Scotland

We really enjoyed our stay here, the wardens were very friendly and helpful. Situated half an hour from park and ride services into Edinburgh (we used Newhallcraig- trains and Wallyford-buses). We visited the Camera Obscura which we all enjoyed. Edinburgh Castle as well as The Royal Mile, very touristy and Princes Street. My husband took A Rebus tour which was very informative, if your like Ian Rankins book. There's lots of activities to choose from nearby, we walked up North law which turned out to be a volcanic plug. The view was amazing. The fish and chip shop on the high street of North Berwick was very nice as was Steampunk a coffee shop which allowed dogs into. Further afield we went to Perth and St Andrews. We cycled to North Berwick using the John Muir way which was an easy ride. There was lots of wildlife to see, we saw lots of deer as well as lots of different birds. The beach was lovely and sandy but it was a bit chilly when we stayed so we didn't stay long. All in all a relaxing stay with plenty of different options depending on your taste. would definitely recommend. ,

Never fails to impress

We regularly visit Yellowcraig and are always impressed. It is definately a jewel in the club's crown, BUT, whilst I know it is not essential, please improve wifi coverage currently it has a very limited range.

Beautiful location with fabulous beaches

Wonderful site near to fabulous beaches. Lovely walk or Bike ride along the John Muir way to Dirleton where you can get good real ale from the Castleton Inn (Dog friendly). You can also get a bus from there to Edinburgh or the delightful North Berwick (Bus goes all the way to Tesco’s). Staff at the site were all very friendly, this is definitely one we’d return to.

Great site and location. Facility Refresh due?

Yellowcraig remains a great C&MC site, and a favourite. It’s location next to miles of Sandy beaches is key, as is the diverse wildlife (birds, deer etc.) that can been seen both on and off the site.

For the more energetic a walk into town of North Berwick (and even a climb up The Law... look it up) can be done in as little as an hour along the beach or the John Muir way. For the less energetic, a 10 minute drive is all it takes to get into town.

The site itself is as clean and tidy as you would expect, with a very large dog walk right outside the gate. We noticed that a recent change means that dogs must now be kept on a lead here, whereas previously they could run free. I imagine that this is due to the local wildlife, especially the deer, and the proximity of the road.

As with many well used sites, although the facilities here are perfectly adequate, they are starting to show their age and a refresh is probably in order. No doubt as this is a popular site, this will be in hand.

Don’t let any of this put you off in any way though. As I said at the beginning, Yellowcraig remains a great C&MC site, and a firm favourite

A bit out of the way, but great for exploring the woods and the sandy beaches

Stopped over for a night and was greeted with a warm welcome. Lucky that as I pulled up, someone was leaving, so a nice pitch near the toilet block and play area, but I have to admit, I did not get disturbed by any noise. Highly recommended, but stock up with the main things before you arrive, as the nearest shop is not that near, although the site shop has a fair selection. Only downside for me, was chose the fish and chip van in the evening and was not that impressed with the quality, but, it was better than cooking it myself! A shortish walk to the beach, with the best thing being a separate path for dog walkers, so you don't have to watch where you are walking on the normal path. Beach is stunning, with fantastic views. It was the main reason I stopped off, as I went metal detecting on the beach as a new hobby. Look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Awesome site and staff

We spend 2 weeks here every Easter ...have done for around 15 years . This site is fabulous ..the team who manage the site are exceptional .Mark, his wife and the other wardens provide a warm welcome and always have a cheery word ...never pass by without a wave . The site is immaculate and the landscape very tidy . They even sweep the road with a BRUSH ..not a noisy leaf blower ( often used on sites and shatters the peace . Please please clone tnis team .... this site is for me....my piece of paradise . Yes children have fun ...but hey that's fine by us ...better than being glued to technology Will hopefully manage a few weekends here ..then back for 2 weeks again next year as usual .
