Noisy play area

Visit marred by noisy play area with very old children (old teenagers) and younger ones just screaming for no reason, rules ask adults to supervise but no evidence, Not CAMC direct fault, but occasional audits could be done by wardens, especially at night-time.

Loved It

Never been before we went for short relaxing break with the dogs and had a fantastic time the site staff were lovely, the toilet block was by far the cleanest we had ever seen, the pitches were of good size.Plenty of walks to do with or without pets we even stopped off at the Castle Inn pub with two dogs and had a lovely pub lunch and the staff were so friendly. Definitely will be going to this site again. Thank You

An absolute 'gem' of a site.

Took advantage of the midweek offer in March 2019, having stayed here many times over the years. Great site in a superb location right next to Yellowcraig Beach. Great for walking in the area, with woods next to and near the site, and the John Muir Way which runs to either Dirleton or North Berwick. A climb up 'The Law' is also a great adventure. The only down side was that the grass still hasn't recovered from awning 'scars' probably from last season. As a result, tourers are asked to consider a hardstanding first to allow for the recovery to continue. I think the club has to seriously look at the issue of awnings on grass pitches, they just leave an eyesore and a lot of work for the wardens,

Superb

Last minute booking on our way back from the NC500 but what a find. If ever we're in the area again would not hesitate to use. Can't speak for family suitability but everything else is top notch from friendliness of staff through location, cleanliness of facilities, ambience & that superb walk through to the dog friendly beach. Fantastic location and a great site

Some 3 miles outside of North Berwick. A fabulous walk along the John Muir way (or the beach, tide dependent) into the interesting town of North Berwick. Set off in the opposite direction on the John Muir way and you will reach the very lovely village of Dirleton with its beautiful church and also castle. We have a dog and I would recommend that you walk towards the beach and take the John Muir way to Dirleton from there. You can turn right out of the campsite and walk along the road (with pavement) and pick up another branch of the John Muir way (turn right) to Dirleton. You will also find the Castle Inn pub (dog friendly) in Dirleton. A good pub for food and drink) Walk into the village and turn right along the John Muir way for about a mile and you will get to the Archfield Walled Garden. Beautiful shop and tearoom. Beautiful walks and gardens. Mostly dog friendly . The site is equally brilliant with well laid out and generous pitches. The staff are friendly and helpful. The coastline is very pleasant and if you like large houses it's worth a look. Wow there are some............ Loved it here and will visit again. Great location. Great for dog owners and more dog poo bins on the John Muir way than I have ever seen elsewhere. No excuses dog owners!!!!!! Thank you

Lovely quiet site

Lovely quiet site, no problem with noisy children or bikes, but we were there midweek in September. Site and facilities clean and tidy, plenty of hot water in the showers. A short walk to the beach. A short ride into North Berwick for shops and the train into Edinburgh (30 minute train ride). Some of the pitches on offer were quite small for a caravan, and there wasn’t a great deal of choice of pitches due to quite a lot of pitches being seasonal. Would recommend this site.

Happy Days

We use this site fairly regularly for long weekends. Staff are great and we really like the facilities. I have no issues with the toilets/showers, always clean with plenty of (good pressure) hot water. Not sure what could or should be changed to the layout of the block - certainly fine for us, as are all the facilities. We have a motorhome so unfair to comment on inadequate water pressure but heh, you are on a break, couple of minutes longer shouldn't be an issue. We don't have children but the youngsters on their bikes don't bother us either. We will happily continue to use the site which has quick access to a super beach, woodland walks, children's adventure park etc.

Nice site ruined

Nice site ruined by the number of kids riding around like Barry sheen on steroids. Unfortunately we picked pitch 101 , I nice wee secluded area well away from the kids play area .. the unfortunate part is that it’s right next to the “den” .. the screaming and shouting from early doors until 8pm is ridiculous.. the wardens do their best but tbh this area should be closed. There’s probably 9 pitches have ruined Holidays because of the noise from this “den” . The actual facilities are ok .. showers and toilets are a bit dated, the water pressure to fill an aquaroll or motor home is extremely low .. takes for ever to fill Anna roll.

Gorgeous location but ban bikes on site

I loved the site, the helpful staff, and the stunning location but the site was unsafe due to the following: -Campers ignoring the one way system (on bikes and in cars) - kids on bikes constantly circling the site ( in all directions) and not riding on the left or following one way system. They also seem to aim at pedestrians as if it’s a game - use of the Motorhome service point effectively blocks access to certain areas . Impatient drivers attempt to squeeze past I witnessed 3 near misses at this site and wasn’t involved in any of them. Also the low water pressure exacerbated the service point issue as it means vans take longer to fill up
