LEAST FAVOURITE SITE

Recently spent 9 nights at this site. I don't know if it was end of season lack of interest but it was one of our least favourite sites. On arrival there was an awful smell coming from either the disposal area or somewhere else. The disposal area was checked very promptly and assurances made that it was not the cause. The reception was closed for three mornings per week and we felt that the toilets were cleaned at an odd time i.e. 9.45am - 11.00am. A fellow camper did say that they felt the same. You either had to get up early, have your breakfast and maybe a cup of tea to catch the early morning rush or wait until 11.00am until the toilets were cleaned. The other toilet block had been decommissioned by the caravan club so we were told. We just felt that as it was close to the end of holiday season that there was a lack of enthusiasm. On the plus side we found a wonderful fish and chip takeaway/restaurant nearby that we all felt served the best fish and chips we had ever tasted. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. I don't think we will return to this site.

Superb

I loved this site. We were lucky enough to get a pitch on the sea front field which has direct access to the beach, and mainly because of this along with perfect sunny weather I would rate this as the best site I have stayed on so far in 4 years of touring the UK. I will definitely return and stay for longer next time.It was perfect having the large beach to exercise the dog, and with bus stop 10 minutes walk away to Lowestoft or southwold both which are lovely, and a pub, and tea room within a couple of minutes, what more could you want. Superb.

Friendly stay

The Wardens were friendly and helpful and looked after the site well. We recently spent 6 nights at this site. We were lucky to get beach side, great pitch and friendly neighbours. We were on the back row so had a bit of traffic noise but nothing to bother about. Our Scottish neighbours were a joy and we had many chats, altogether a great atmosphere. This site is within easy reach of Lowestoft, Yarmouth etc one way and Southwold the other, all of which we visited. Will certainly be back in 2017.

Enjoyable trip.

We stayed here for six nights and we were lucky to have had a beach side pitch especially as the weather was perfect.we were welcomed on arrival and were lucky to be able to extend our stay thanks to the warden for that .some lovely beach walks to either south wold or Lowestoft. There aren't many restaurants or pubs to choose from locally so really need transport.unfortuneatly for us we found seasonal pitch people on the beach side very cliquey but it didn't spoil our stay .

Brilliant site

This was our first visit to the site and area, we were pleasantly surprised! The wardens were friendly and helpful the pitches were spacious and the whole site well designed. The facilities were clean but a little dated. The area itself is great with good beaches, quite a few dog friendly, great pubs and interesting towns. This will certainly not be our last visit

One of my favourite sites

We just returned from our second week at White House Beach this year. Like the previous stay we received a warm welcome from the wardens even though they were extremely busy and had outfits queuing to get through the gates.  We prefer to stay on the beachside site and was not disappointed. We had the last available pitch that side. It's great to be able to nip outside the gates onto the beach with the dogs as frequently as they need.  Facilities are clean and well looked after. We visited Southwold but didn't rate it. We prefered Lowestoft South Beach and Corton.  We were very lucky with the weather on both our stays this year seeing temperatures around 30c on both stays. I was told by a local that Kessinglands climate is one of the best in the country being the most easterly point and part of the draw to the area.  They get high summer temps and mild winters. We will be back next Spring for sure.

Not the Best

Just returned from this club site Overall very good however we stayed on the beach side and feel the toilet block could do with being updated . We were only there for the weekend so had little contact with the wardens except on arrival . However the female warden who booked us in was far from pleasant and quite off putting. Otherwise a very very good week end ...Southwold perfect. Caravanner from Leicestershire.

Sunny Kessingland

This was probably our 6th or 7th visit over the years. The weather for 2nd week in Sept was very warm which was great to get up and walk the dogs in T shirt & shorts @ 7 in the morning on the beach! We ate twice @ the Waterside restaurant 50 metres from the site entrance which is very good particularly on Thursday Paella night - good luck to anyone that can eat the full skillet - its a monster! Disagree with the earlier poster that it is expensive as you get what you pay for. A minor criticism we found was that the main shower block was closed @ 09:45 for cleaning with the other small block on the land side site closed during our stay, but otherwise were kept very clean to usual club standards. In fact the toilets must have been cleaned late evening or early morning as well as the scheduled morning clean up. One real gripe concerns an increasing minority of other members turning up well before 12:00 to 'bag' the best available pitches. We saw one motorhome blocking the pinch point approach road opposing a leaving caravan whilst trying to get in at 11:00!

A great first site

Although I had been to several CL sites, this was my first club site. The welcome was very friendly and helpful. The site is split into two halves and although the seafront side might seem appealing, I much preferred being on a pitch away from the day trippers and tucked away sheltered by the hedges. The toilet blocks all seemed good and there is a small on-site dog walk space for them to go last thing at night without having to walk to the beach. There is loads of beach though, right on the doorstep, stone and grassy for dogs to play, then further down the coast it turns to lovely sand. There are two fish & chip shops nearby, I tried the closest which was just fine and freshly cooked. Even with it being pretty full, it was very peaceful, although that might have more to do with it being the first week kids were back at school, so only adults on site!

A Very Nice Club Site

Made our second stay at this really nice club site. The location is very good with easy access right onto the beach.Facilities are as you would expect from a club very well maintained.Wardens are very good and attentive and are always busy keeping the site in a superb condition.Be aware now that bus,s do not now stop outside the site but about 600yards away. We used the local pub "Sailors Home" it was very busy being a music night ,but we were not impressed at all with the food served and chose not to use it again. There is a Fish and Chip restaurant and takeaway located in the village a short walk away. There is also a very good restaurant just outside the site called Waterside it serves very good food but it is a little expensive .This site is really good for dog owners with the beach available for walks.
